:jester: Hiya

I am new to posting around here, but I require some help,

I fly to orlando on november 26th from manchester, we are flying virgin which is where my questions begin

My flight is schedual (and I normally go charter) do I need to upgrade my seats? As I am 6ft and my BF is 6ft 3in so we do need quiet some room.

I am staying at the caribbean beach hotel, which I havnt been to before, has anyone else.?

I have booked a few things already, such as breakfast at chef mickeys (through keith prowers) and the spirit of aloha dinner show. How do i book character meals and when ? especially the castle.

Is there anything special I can do with the room? are there room up grades?

Sorry I know these questions are going on...

Also I am looking for some different things to do at disney any suggestions, ?

Thanx for any help in advance

oh and how can I get a counter to the 25th november (we are staying at the hilton that night at the airpoirt)

Hi,

Welcome to the boards.

I would say you tend to have more room on a scheduled flight than you do on a charter. You can pre-book your seats through virgin, look at the web-site www.virginatlantic.com for more info. PE on virgin is definitely better for leg room but it depends if you want to spend any more money.

I haven't personally stayed at the caribbean beach resort but it's supposed to be good. Disney resorts tend to be pretty good.

Here'e the link to the counter along with instructions

Don't know about the character meals as I've never done those but I'm sure someone on the boards will be able to help you.

Have a good trip

Hello

You have my sympathies with the need for extra space - it is not easy to get (and you'd be amazed at how many 'little people' want extra space too lol ).

Virgin is not one of the generous scheduled flights (different story about 10 years ago when it was great) and if PE is out of the question then there are some seats which are better than others and I'm sure someone will give you this information. However, Virgin are notoriously bad at not giving you the seats you believe you have pre-booked, so here's my advice (we're also tall). Check in as early as you can at Manchester and then again at Downtown Disney on your return and get the emergency exit seats.

Be warned that the one by the window sometimes doesn't offer as much room because the door often comes into the space. The check-in opens at DD at 8.30 am I believe, and when we went just before 7.30 am (yes, that's right, 7.30 am!) we were first in the line but only by about 2 minutes. I assume they have Twilight Check-in at Manchester, so same applies.

Good luck with it. That return flight is awful if you are shoe-horned into a standard seat and you are tall.

With regards to seating on the Virgin Manchester flight I just had a quick look on v-flyer at seat ratings for you and if you stay in economy then row 60 abc or hjk offer 33 inch seat pitch as opposed to the standard 31 inch. I suppose if you could afford to upgrade to PE then this would be a better option comfort wise however at at least £390 return each to upgrade you may want to stick to economy.

Hi mushumadness

Great to see you posting :)

DH is 6ft 3 and we were lucky enough to check in early and get exit seats both ways on our trip and what a difference it made to him.

We stayed at the CBR on our first trip in 2000, great resort we got a room in the Martinique area which is right next to the food court and main pool - that really suited us. Have you seen the Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ thread on the Resort board there is some great info there. Also here is a link to a Video tour of CBR :)

For your Character Meals you can book there 90 day's out. So if you want the popular one Cinderella's Royal Table follow these instructions...

1) Determine the date that you can make your Cindy's reservation. Go to the DIS Priority Seating calculator and verify the earliest calling date for the dates that you can attend (90 days prior). Realize that there is a VERY good chance that you will be unsuccessful if you only try once. So plan on getting a PS for early in your trip and if you get it, GREAT. If you don't, you can still try the next morning.

2) You should only make reservations using the 001 (407) 939-3463 number.

3) Syncronize your clock. Go to the official U.S. time clock for great results. I have DSL at home, so I leave the official U.S. clock up on my screen while calling.

4) Begin calling at about 6:58 Eastern time. There are two possible greetings:
a) Thank you for calling the Disney Reservation Center. Our office is closed... (hang up immediately as soon as you hear the words "Our office" and hit redial immediately).
or
b) Thank you for calling the Disney reservation center (pause). You're in and on hold! Wait! Do NOT hang up or you will lose any chance of a ressie!

Please note that as of April 4, 2002, there is no option to hit "1" as previously described in some threads. The only responses are in a) and b) above. Simply wait to here whether the recording says, "Our office is closed."

Plan on calling 10-15 times during this two minute period. The range seems to be picking up between 7:58:30 and 7:59:30.

5) Upon speaking to a "live person", interrupt the CRO rep and blurt out "I need Cindy's, for June xx, for x people, any available time". The CRO rep will understand your temporary rudeness, and you'll make up for it later with endless amounts of gratitude... Don't try and pick a specific time. Any delays will seriously hinder your ability to get a PS.

6) Be sure to write down your time and PS #. If your PS is before the park opening, you'll have to present your PS# to get into the park.

For other PS you don't need to be so quick off the mark - but if you are anything like me I book theme asap :)
