So....we have not even been back two weeks and we are looking to book next years holiday!!

This time we are going with friends so will be 7 of us in total - 4 adults, 2 x 13yr olds and an 11 yr old.

We are thinking a week on International Drive and then a week at OKW in a 2 bed villa with DDP. This is to lower the cost slightly and also we fear our friends who have never been will want to do more than just Theme Parks - we can do.

Has anyone done a split stay - does it work out well? Is it a pain moving from one to the other?

Costs so far are looking at

Flights £4410 (£630 ea)
Int Drive £500 1st week)
OKW £1680 2nd week
Disney Tks £1624 (232 each)

Total £8214 (1173 ea)

Still have to factor in other tickets - but we can buy those later we only need the Disney ones now to get the DDP. Flights are a bit heftier that we had hoped, however, perhaps it is not too bad.

Would love some thoughts from people who have stayed offsite as hubby needs more convincing!

Just checking to make sure you are aware that you may not be able to activate your Disney tickets until you check-in to your Disney accommodation, so if you are planning on visiting Disney in week 1, may be best to swap your accommodation weeks around.

That said, I have seen on other forums posts where people have been able to get tickets beforehand, but it very much depends on the cast member you are dealing with. I would e-mail Disney and get written confirmation if you still want to do week 2 at OKW.

Regarding split stays, we have done this a few times and one change isn't a problem. If you are still keeping the OKW accommodation for week 2, you can leave all your luggage with bell services whilst you visit one of the parks on the day you move.

Factoring in free dining and free parking you may be as cheap to stay onsite for the 14 nights.

If not have you thought about an offsite villa for the second week?

We tried to get the tickets before out stay in WDW and were told no as its part of their package and Disney will issue tickets on your room key.
