If anyone could help me figure out what I'm doing wrong. I have been reading all these great rates people are getting with National car. I do have a Emerald Club card and I have been trying all the different codes posted but the cheapest rate I am getting so far is $315.79 from July 20 - July 29. Last year my rental for the same amount of time was like $230.00. I do not have an AMEX card so those codes won't help me...
Please someone help...I just hate to pay $315.79.

thanks

Car rental rates are going up and up. I got an SUV through Alamo last month for under $100 for a week. I have a five day rental through Emerald Club for October for $134.90, and a seven day rental in December (for a compact) for $190. I keep checking every week to see if the rates have gone down, and they just keep going up.

You might want to try renting your car at the Car Care Center on WDW property. You may get a better rate.

The best rate I got was back on May 22, using the AAA contract ID 6100253. However, when I put that in now, the rate is 35% higher than what I reserved at. Rates have definitely gone up, no idea why. Ours is for the first 2 weeks in July, which is a busy time in Orlando. Even Alamo seems high when I check their rates to compare.

Well I'm hoping the closer it gets to my vacation the rated will go down...I have my fingers crossed!

When I originally booked an intermediate through National, 6/14-6/21 @ 117. I checked yesterday down to $104, so jsut kep checking

What codes did you use to get the great rate of $104.00?
Maybe my rate will come down closer to July, I hope!!!!

You might want to try a different rental agency. For our 10 day rental in July, National was about $150 more than Alamo (it's sibling company) and Dollar. I love National because of Emerald Aisle, but it's not that valuable.

Budget is currently $258 (midsize) for your dates using U072405. I recommend you book something in case rates continue to increase, and then rebook if rates go down.

I just made a reservation using an American Express code....But the only (little) problem is that I don't have an Amex card....
Does anyone know if they really ask to see your card? Because I got a great rate with the code.

Quickly I put in WWEB as rate code and ND41 as coupon but couldnt fina acontract ID - will locate one later - these are from rentalcodes.com and I got $229 but $287 after tax. This was after only five minutes work.

Why is this server so busy lately. -

used the code for Emerald card holders, and $20 coupon from Entertainment book

I got a great deal on Dollar for July 23-30 for 180 for the economy car.
The next 2 sizes up fit the same amount of people and the same size pieces of luggage according to their charts. So Kia is what I booked. Oh code was KISS.
Denise :)

Now i just rebooked Dollar and the Kia with oi1054 code. This is from Mousesavers from the Orlando magiccard discount.
Also this code got me down from 182 to 171 and now includes the additional drivers for free. sweet!
Now remember that some car rental, you have to take a shuttle van to the lot. With Mousesaver info remember this: At Orlando International Airport (MCO) the in-terminal rental car agencies are Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, National and L&M. All others are off-site at the airport, so you will have to take a shuttle.
NO thanks to another shuttle!

They will definitely ask for the card. I booked w/ that code on our last trip. The card is in my husband's name. The Emerald Club membership is in mine, with him as an add'l driver. We got to the window, she asked for the card, he gave it to her and she wanted my card, since the ressie is in my name. I didn't have it and she was a bit put out but eventually put it through. And it was charged to the Amex card, not the card on file under my Emerald Club membership.

So if you use an AMEX code, expect to have the card and have it billed to that card.

What is the amex code???? I have a reservation using 6100253 and coupon nd41. I hope I don't need the card because I don't have one and I got a great rate for 11 days. $162.11

Wow!!that is a good rate of $162.11...I am still getting $315.79 for July 20 - 29..using those codes...I must be doing something wrong.

I just might have to check out Dollar...

Oh please can you spell it out for a first time car renter? What site did you go to to do the rental? What type of car?
