Help with name(s) on membership vs resale

Oh that's good to know. Do you remember any resources so I can read on that? Otherwise I'll start looking through the forum!

Is your loan with Monera financial? If it is then I can tell you what they told me about changing the names to a trust/different person on an existing loan.

Just thought I'd drop an update as I know from personal experience these threads are super helpful when searching for solutions to DVC/title related queries!!

The loan is now paid in full (such a good feeling, girl math tells me my trips are now free). So that's that blocker out the way.

I've reached out to member administration directly to see if they can change my name directly themselves as I've heard of some members having success with this. Will report back results.

I'm working with "DVC Title and Escrow" - https://www.dvcclosings.com/ to remove my ex partner (and change my name if MA cannot do it directly).

I did also speak with LT transfers and they were incredibly helpful (and cheaper), however, as a UK member the whole notarisation process is a lot easier with DVC Title and Escrow as they have an in house notary and can setup a virtual call to notarise. Whereas with LT transfers I'd have had to arrange the notarisation myself. Which, considering it also has to go out to my ex, who has been difficult throughout this process (and that's being nice), the path of least resistance that involves the least amount of leg work on their part is the better option.

The one remaining area that is giving me massive anxiety is if DVC MA cannot change my name directly and it is done through the title company. I have visions of MA not interpreting this as a name change and them thinking it's a transfer or resale or something and I end up losing my direct benefits.

My ex has had to re-title deeds into her new name, but that may vary by management company. The two cases for her were both non-DVC. In any event, you already have to re-file the deed to remove your ex from it, and you may as well transfer it into your current name as you are doing that. It can all be done in one step.

You're new around here, aren't you? That's not girl math, it's most definitely DVC math.

I'm reasonably certain the title company will make sure it goes through correctly. You're not the first member who needed to change their name. Don't worry.

And, the only thing that needs changing is your name within DVC so they recognize the new contract being the same person!
