I much prefer the look of Mickey-ear headbands over the traditional ear hats, so I bought a pair of the sequin sparkly Minnie styled ones (I wish they sold just plain Mickey ones). But OMG the band is so TIGHT!! It said one-size-fits-all, but it's so tight that it hurts and I swore I thought I accidentally bought kids ears. Is there anyway to stretch them?? Any suggestions? It's these ears:

If they are plastic, you might carefully heat the band with a hair drier while carefully stretching the
band sides a bit wider. (Slowly and Carefully.)

When mine are too thight I just put them in something that has a bigger diameter like a planter, I have use my piece of luggage before leave it over night or a few hours depending how big is the object you are using to expand them.

If you want to buy something new, there are lots of places that sell plain Mickey ears: Amazon, party stores, some Wal-Mart and Target stores, etc. There are also tons of handmade options on Etsy.

lol!

I have one pair I was not so careful or slow with and they broke :scared:

My most recent pair I wear with pain, but I grin and bear it because hey it's disney.

Maybe I shall try that hair dryer trick....:earsgirl:

You know you have to wear them whether they hurt or not, right? :)

We have had that problem with a lot of those headband ears, but they're so cute we wear them anyway.
Right? Isn't wearing Ears at Disney a price you pay like wearing high heels to a formal? It's just something that is done, comfortable or not :)

Though admittedly, I've taken to wearing my crown more often than my ears

LOL yep.the price we pay for fandome!

We just take "ear breaks" during the day. :)

I look forward to the fast moving rides so I have an excuse to take them off!

Lol, I do too - but when I'm in the parks I feel naked without them!

But as soon as I'm in the privacy of my own room...off they go!

It feels wrong to be earless!

Beauty is pain!

I saw some of the Etsy ones too but no guarantee they'd be more comfy. Especially since many of them said one size fits all from toddlers to adults. yeah. Right. Plus, something wrong with wearing non-Disney approved ears. Like I'm cheating on them LOL!

We did try CAREFULLY heating it and now it's sitting in the bathroom all stretched between two bars on our towel rack. Will see how it fairs in the morning.

I've gotten a ton of Etsy ears and none have been as tight as the ones I've purchased at Disney. Most of the sellers use headbands you can find at Wal-Mart.

I get my ears from MousekaEars Boutique on Etsy. The Disney ones are too tight for me and give me a headache but the ones I got from MousekaEars are amazingly comfortable. I've worn them all day around my house several times (had to make sure they'd survive a park day!) and absolutely no issues!

I have the same problem and I tend to get migraines as soon as something squeezes my head so I bought a bunch of hair bows from an Etsy vendor and from Hot Topic and I wear those above my braid or below my bun depending on how I wear my hair. So many characters to chose from and no more migraines!

When we were taking our first family trip to Disney, DD wanted Piglet ears . . . . which weren't available ANYWHERE. We had an old Piglet costume from when she was a child, so I beheaded it (sick, I know) and used the ears, and some of the furry fabric from the head area, and attached them to a hair band that we bought from WalMart. It worked out great, and she loved them. Matter of fact, that was 2008, and those ears are still around :)

Thanks! I wish she sold plain Mickey ones. I really don't want Minnie ears with a bow. There is very little girly about me LOL and a bow just isn't my jam.
