Help with Montreal airport hotel

Hi! On another travel forum I'm following, somebody posted the following:

we are flying out of montreal but live in ottawa. to our dismay the rates for airport hotels are much higher than in Toronto where we've been able to get free parking with one night's stay for around 100 bucks. anyone have experience flying out of montreal and using a hotel with a park and fly package. none of the parking is free. basically you are paying about $60 more than the hotel room alone. and a lot of the TA reviews of the airport hotels sound terrible. any advice would be great.

They haven't gotten any replies, I think because the forum has a lot fewer members to put their knowledge together.

Anybody here have some suggestions I can forward? I'll post it and mention that I got the info here on the great Dis!

First of all I totally agree - the prices of the MOntreal Airport hotels was awful! I ended up booking the Holiday Inn Express and suites but still had to pay $194 for a room with parking for 10 days!! Crazy pricey to me. But I should qualify that I am a hotel snob and don't do Comfort/quality Inns, and rarely wouls choopse a Holiday Inn but this one looks lovely! Free breakfast and internet and free shuttle to the airport.

THere aren't a ton of hotels around that airport (Not like Toronto) so I figured I would secure something and then wait to see if anything came down but at least I have a room if everything sells out -since we are flying March Break.

Here are some hotel options that you can check out. They both within a 5 KM radius of Trudeau, are less than 5 years old, have shuttle service, and parking on site.

As for parking, I would recommend Park N Fly. They are just off the airport grounds and offer 24 hour shuttle service for a fraction of what it costs to park at Trudeau.

I don't have personal input on this (I live 15 minutes form the airport...), but here are some hotels suggestion from people in (yet) another forum:

used regularly by the same poster(means they liked it!), car kept in a fenced & locked area:

Those are not luxury hotels, and yes you have to pay extra for the "Park&Fly" package. Based on where the airport is located in Montreal, those hotels have limited parking space. It is up to everyone to check how much airport parking would cost versus package cost. I've never slept in a hotel where the Park&Fly did not add at least 30$ to the base price (more like 40-50$), but that's my experience in Burlington, Vermont.

Parking at Montreal airport in the economy lot is 72$ for a week (8 days), which isn't bad really.

I would use priceline or hotwire and save your money. Checkout betterbidding first so you know what recent winning bids have been so you don't over bid if you go with priceline.
