DD who is 6 will be dressed up as Belle for MNSSHP, she has the red costume from last year. DS will be 9 months old and I would like him to be the Beast or something else from Beauty and the Beast, but I am not sure how to make or where to buy a costume like that. Any suggestions???

Have you begun looking at costume sites online? DD8 is going to be the Queen of Hearts and to find her costume was a royal pain in the butt. I ended up winning a bid for it on EBay. It's an adult small, but she is tall and it is beautiful. Even came with the tags still on it.

Good luck!

I agree look online, at 9 months old he would make a cute Chip!

Don't forget how warm it still is during October at night.

We did MNSSHP 10/31/03 & 10/01/04 and they were both equally hot and humid.

Yes my husband about passed out in his batman costume! It can still be warm!

I was going to post the same thing - especially thinking about a baby dressed as beast!

We have done MNSSHP three years in a row and two of the three years it was very very hot. Last year my dd's totally ditched the costumes - princess type and not very heavy for shorts and a tank as it was so hot.

They were very glad they did and we found some Mickey Mouse Club tanks and shorts with hats so they had a "costume" but were comfortable. Now keep in mind that these very hot humid nights are not that common in October but especially early in the month it can be very hot.

If we go next year we will plan on a lightweight costume that you could wear something long sleeve under in case of any weather.

I bet that you could make a really cute Lumiere costume for your baby. I would use a lightweight one piece pj set (white) and use other fabric, ribbon or felt to create the candle holder effect on the feet and arms. You could do an orange cap of some sort for the flame and maybe lightweight mittens for flames also. You could make it as lightweight as you want , but still make it look like lumiere.

Thanks for all the comments!! I didn't think about the weather, as it will be cold in the midwest by then. Maybe I could make or find a hat for him with the same theme. DD will be wearing her costume with short underneath if she wants to take it off at some point. I will be searching ebay to see what I can find now!!!
