We have only been to Disney once and we only went to MK and Epcot 2 years ago. We just booked our next trip :cool1:

Anyway we are going to go to MGM but I really don't know much about it. I see they have some great rollercoasters and things for older kids and some "shows" for the younger, but is there anything an experienced MGM'er can suggest for us to do to help me plan our day.

The kids will never ever go on a roller coaster (maybe the kiddie one in MK but that's about it). But my kids love everything else disney. They like shows and characters etc.... I think there is a Beauty and the Beast show and an Areil show, other than that what else could.

the 2 older are girls and the youngest is a boy (who loves princesses even more than the girls :confused3 )

Thanks much.

I just got out our old guide from 2001 so someone correct me if I am wrong!
My kids Loved Playhouse Disney even the adults had a great time! Lots of singing and dancing with their fav characters :cool1: Also the Muppet Vision 3-D show is a blast! My fav is the Who wants to be a Millionaire Play It!

Here are some of our faves - Playhouse Disney, Live on Stage!, Muppet Vision 3D, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Lights, Motors, Action!, The Great Movie Ride (some sections may be a bit scary, but it is a large car on a track, so the kids can nestle their heads on your shoulder if they need to) There is a great Wizard of Oz Recreation in there - really cool!.

And you must make a lunch or dinner reservation at the 50's Primetime Cafe - it is so much fun & the food is classic comfort food. :goodvibes

The Great Movie Ride is very good. My kids love Star Tours and Tower of Terror (OK, they love Rock'n Roller Coaster, too). The Muppet Show is great, the car stunt show is good. And we've always caught the characters in the plaza at MGM. I know there's plenty of other stuff; I'm just not thinking of it right now.

Definitely do:

Lil Mermaid
Muppets 4d
stunt car show
Beauty & Beast Show
Great Movie Ride
and I would consider Indiana Jones Show(it is very loud though and has fire, shooting, etc.)

If littler ones get scared, I would shy away from it

And another vote for Prime Time Cafe...Great family place. lots of things for kids to choose from to eat.

Make ressie though, they book up fast

DS(nearly 7) would recommend Star Tours.
DD4 would recommend Voyage of the Little Mermaid.
Both enjoyed the Beauty and the Beast show and (surprisingly considering the volume) the Indiana Jones show.
The Great Movie Ride would frighten both of them.
They love Fantasmic.

I agree with
PlayHouse Disney
Lil Mermaid
Muppets 4d
Lights, Camera Action Stunt Show
Beauty & Beast Show

The Great Movie ride is great, but DON'T ride in the first car with little kids. Don't want to spoil it, so I won't say what happens, but I made the mistake of being in the first car with little ones and wish I was back further. The other thing is an Alien movie encounter, which surprisingly, didn't scare my kids.

I also suggest:
Star Tours (for those above 40")
Honey I shrunk the kids PlayArea

BackStage tour is fun, but again, a few scary things...explosions, fire and floods.

If they like getting wet, bring them over to the big Coke bottle....they will have a blast.

For food, The Prime Time '50's cafe or Sci Fi Drive In Cafe is REALLY fun for familys

If the kids like Power Rangers, then they will be heaven....find out when they will appear (down Avenue of Americas, near Stunt Show entrance)

I would say definitly do MuppetVision(one of my favorites at MGM), the Great Movie Ride, Lights Motors Action, and Fantasmic. Beauty and the Beast is also a great show and you should see it.

We're going to try for EMH. Which attractions should we get done first to avoid long lines?

I will add that the parade is very fun. Lots of great characters. Get some ice cream and find a seat about 1/2 hr prior, and enjoy. DD9 and I did this the other week, we rarely, "plan" on viewing the parade, but this day she got ice cream and we found a bench across from Sunset Blvd and relaxed, chatted and people watched until the parade started.

Also, Pizza Planet is fun for a break, grab lunch and play in the arcade.

Our favorites are Great Movie Ride, Muppet 3-D and Back Lot Tour. DD9 loves RnRc and ToT too! And of course Fantasmic is a must do!!!

I love MGM!!! :) There is such a variety of attractions. There is something for every age. Don't miss the many character greeting ops. This was my DS's favorite thing. At the Streets of America you can meet the characters from Toy Story, Power Rangers, we also met Jo Jo and Goliath from JoJos Circus and some of the classic Disney characters. I would say that Muppetvision and Playhouse Disney are a must for your group. :thumbsup2

MGM is my DS's favorite park. He wants to go to MK to ride Buzz and Space Mountain, and Epcot to ride Test Track, but the only park he wants to hang out in is MGM. (DS is 12 and has Down Syndrome, so in many ways he's like a kids who is only 5, or 7 or 9 or 15... depending on the topic!).

He loves Playhouse Disney, B&B show, GMR (I think I can recite both of them!). The only thing he doesn't like there is the Lights Motor Action thing.
