I am making the kids tshirts for the trip. The day we are heading to DW, I am going to hand them a tshirt and tell them to get dressed so we can leave. I need ideas on what to put on the tshirt to let them know we are going to DW for a week, not just a day trip. Also, I was thinking it would be neat to have a glow in the dark shirt for our second day at AK when we plan to check out Pandora at night. Any ideas there? TIA

Are you doing HTV or fabric paint (assuming you're making them yourself)? You could do a Disney castle type theme with "family trip" or something to that effect. Are you doing multiple shirts or just one?

I'm doing a combination of fabric paint and iron in material stuff. And I'm making 3 of each design.

Iron on letters and words are easy and look nice. Mickey ears are easy, they're just circles. You can trace cups and bowls, etc. And you can say something like Family (or last name) Disney Trip 2020. You can add a little personal favorite character to each shirt, each person's name, etc., if you want to do more.

I just bought iron ons from ebay. They were about 4 or 5 dollars each and were Mickey ears with castle silhouettes and just said Disney Family Vacation Year. They looked really good in our pics that day and held up pretty well with gentle washing inside out and hang drying.

Check out all the amazing shirts on Etsy for design inspiration!

For our first park day, we had family shirts with mouse ears that said "Best Day Ever" for the kids and me, and "Most Expensive Day Ever" for dh. Its an idea for departure day as well.

When my two kids were a little younger, we tried a YouTube moment and announced the very day we were leaving, that we were going to WDW. To build to that moment, we created small wrapped gifts for both of them. Included in the gifts were little toys, books, and t-shirts. They opened the gifts on video.

The t-shirts were plain white Ts and I used a computer generated design on the Avery iron on. How I worded it was this, "I'm on my way to Disney World for a week!" Or something like that.

That way when my daughter read the t-shirt, she instantly understood. Her brother wasn't reading at the time and she explained to him on the video we shot.

Later when they both wore their t-shirts to the airport, the pilot of the SW aircraft strolled by and saw them too. He gave them high fives before boarding the plane. The flight attendant saw them too and gave them extra stuff during the flight. Everyone who saw the t-shirts knew where these kids were headed.

It made it way more exciting for them both to have other people comment on their trip.

In review, the video was a big bust. Neither reacted like we thought they would. Even with the t-shirts in hand, they still couldn't grasp that we were leaving TODAY... like RIGHT NOW. We have to go to the airport now. My son simply walked away to play with his new Disney related toys.
