Help with logistics please... parking/poly/fireworks

Hi!

I'm trying to plan my Thursday evening (5/15?). My parents will be arriving to spend the night with us to go to the park (HS) on Friday.

So - I'm thinking we'll do AK on Thursday since it closes the earliest.

THEN - we'd like to go to Poly, grab something to eat at Captain Cooks and watch the fireworks...

SO - would it make sense to drive from AK to MK to park and take the transportation from there?

Can you get on the buses without actually ENTERING the park? We aren't doing hoppers this trip...

OR would you suggest doing something at Downtown Disney for the night?

AND - how do you find out when the water parade is?

Whew - so many questions, so little time!!

1) OK. I assume you mean from the Poly Beach. (See maps below.)
2) You can. Or park at the Poly (lots are next to each other.)
MK lot is not actually AT the MK. but near the Poly at TTC.

Polynesian Resort -- 9 p.m.
Grand Floridian -- 9:15 p.m.
Wilderness Lodge -- 9:35 p.m.
Fort Wilderness -- 9:45 p.m.
Contemporary Resort -- 10:05 p.m.
Magic Kingdom -- 10:20 p.m. (only during extended MK park hours)

Note that when the Magic Kingdom Fireworks are scheduled for 9 p.m., the Electrical Water Pageant runs about 7-20 minutes later.

As far as parking at the Poly, I wasn't sure if we could - and I thought I read that it was only for 3 hours?

And yep! From the beach. I was considering dinner at Ohana but my kids wouldn't eat ANYTHING on the menu

I might just park for the day at the TTC and jump on the local monorail to any resort, then take the bus to AK for the day.

When leaving AK, grab the bus to Poly for dinner. After dinner, jump on the monorail to return to TTC to grab your car.

As far as the water pageant...

You don't need to go to a resort from TTC to get a bus to AK.

There is a bus to AK from TTC.
You just walk down to the bus loading area (see my map.)
