Hello!
I'm new to the boards. I've searched back a ton of pages. I've been looking for a thread that might have a bunch of lens recommendations with photos as examples.

I have a 20D. I generally use the kit lens (the 18-55). I also have an ultrasonic 55-200 - which I really like (esp for candids).

I'm looking for something new. I feel as though I'm missing something.......(are you ever satisfied with what you have? haha).

I'm looking for a fun recommendation. My budget is limited, BUT, I'd still love to hear what you would recommend (I'm going to print this out for future wishlist).

My background.
I have three kids - 6/2/1 (and my DH). I take pictures of them almost everyday - just general what is going on that day type of shot - in the living room/kitchen/attic. Occasionally, I take outside/inside/events at school shots.

We'll be at Disney again right around Christmas. The last time we went, I was only shooting my 3 year old. Now I have a 6/2/1 year old to contend with (little chuckle)

We'll be doing 4 character meals and a bunch of other meals.

If there is anything else you need to know, please ask.

AND - if there is a thread that you have bookmarked that I didn't see, please post that!

Thanks so much for all of your help!!!

With a limited budget and an upcoming trip to Disney,,,,, on this board, its a no brainer................. 50mm f/1.8. Extreamly sharp, very inexpensive, great for portraits, excellent for use in low light and natural light and for Disney it will allow you to take shots in the indoor rides without using a flash. Also is great for the night parades (Spectro and MVMCP). Now the drawback to this lens is it has an EXTREMELY shallow depth of field when you use it wide open, so you do have to be on mark with your focus if you use it from f/4 to f/1.8, esepcially in candids of people. For the Disney indoor rides and night parades, since your further away from the subject, its not quite as dramatic.

But at about $90 new on line it is a great piece of glass to add to your collection.

Agreed! I have one and it hasn't been nloff of my camera since I purchased it.

The Tamron lenses, 25-75 f/2.8 and 17-50 f/2.8 are good all around bets for under $400

The 50 f/1.8 is good as an additional lens, but you'll soon find the limitations of a fixed lens to be too much when trying to get pictures of kids running around.
