Please critique my itinerary:

Thursday – Check in POR

Friday
810-Boatwrights
MGM briefly to see Narnia before refurbishment
Hop to AK
6pm – Fultons DTD

Saturday
6am up
Check out of POR and Check in POLY.
Monorail to MK for “rope drop”
Hang out for a while then back to POLY for some relaxation

Sunday
930am – Kona
Check out POLY
Resort hop (possibly)
Check in BCV
Off to EP
730-La Cellier
Illuminations possibly depends on dinner

Monday
MEMH – AK – leave around noonish, head back to BCV for some down time
Head to MGM around 4pm for EEMH
6pm – Mama Mel’s and maybe Fantasmic (depending on dinner)
Ride rides till we get tired

Tuesday

SLEEP IN
Hang out swim or head to DTD for shopping
Then to the Tambu lounge around 3pm and off to MNSSHP

Wednesday
Sleep in
1pm Brown Derby
Evening open –

Thursday
EP
7pm Coral Reef

Now for some background. This is supposed to be our “relaxing” trip, but it doesn’t seem so to me. Touring Plans says to avoid both AK and MGM on the Monday that we have planned to be there.

What are your thought and/or suggestions? Will MGM EEMH be so crowded that we will have long waits to get on the rides? And is Sunday at EPCOT going to be crowded with the locals and FAWF?

Help!

Your plan looks relaxing by my standards, except for the resort hopping the first few days. I like to stay in one place and not have to move.

I would think EEMH at MGM would not be THAT bad....

They say the Floridians do like their F&W, so teh conventional wisdom is probably right about Epcot being crowded up until about dinner time on Sunday.

Have a magical trip! :wizard:

On your first day, I'm curious about the "MGM briefly to see Narnia before refurbishment" entry - I don't see any news that the Narnia exhibit will close anytime soon. I wouldn't make a special trip just to MGM to see Narnia, then hop to another park, unless you're dying to see it before you go back to MGM on Monday. Disney busses aren't exactly quick transportation, so you'd probably waste an hour that could be better spent at AK in the prime morning hours.

On Thursday night, were you planning to use the Fantasmic dining package at Mama Melrose's? Since Fantasmic starts at 7:30pm usually, you'd probably be cutting it close with a 6pm ADR - you could try and get an earlier ADR maybe.

In my opinion, evening EMHs aren't worth it... a lot of people are unwilling to be at the parks at 8am for a morning EMH, and you can really get a lot done in the first hour at a morning EMH. In the evenings, many more people are willing to stick around later, especially since MGM closes relatively early. It's not like at the MK, where typical evening EMHs this month are from 9pm-midnight. You'll find a lot more people staying up from 7:30-10:30pm to do MGM.

I did note on your schedule that you're hopping out of AK around lunchtime when you do the morning EMH, that's always a good idea. Can't help you with the F&WF local crowd info, though I'd hope that since the fest has been going on since Sept 29, that the locals have already had their fill!

I'd like to help, but I'm really confused by your post.

Your switching resorts twice in 2 days??

Bad move hopping to AK when you'll already be getting a late start to MGM.

Journey Into Narnia: Creating The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe: Closed for Refurbishment [October 11, 2006 to October 31, 2006]
Actually I just reread it from the disney world site and it is closed prior to my arrival so I guess it is straight to AK

And no we are doing the Fantasmic dinner package, but I could see if we can get an earlier reservation for Mama's but still a little gun shy due to EEMH

Thanks!!!

Thursday and Friday will be POR
Sat - POLY
Sun - BCV for the remainder

We have often resort hopped to POLY and decided we wanted to stay and try it!

I think I will nix MGM on Friday since Narnia exhibit will be closed.

Thank you!!!

Personally any vacation that makes me get up at 6 am to check out and move to the Poly fails the "relaxing mode" LOL!

I am not a good structured vacation person at Disney however.... other vacations I plan like the invasion of Normandy. At Disney I just get up and do what feels good!

:lmao:

Trust me I am not looking forward to that alarm clock. But my wish to be at MK at "rope drop" at least once during my trip leaves me no choice. I figure I'll take a ride on Space Mountain to wake me up!!!

Interesting... neither www.allearsnet.com nor www.mouseplanet.com indicate that Narnia will be closed... I suppose one should trust Disney's own website! I doubt Narnia will actually be refurbished - they will probably be installing a new walkthrough attraction in its spot. Oh well... I was looking forward to seeing Narnia too.

On the odd chance it's a glitch in WDW's website (since allearsnet and mouseplanet are usually pretty good about these things), you should check when you get to MGM anyway - it might still be open.
