"This is a fellow DISer, posting through a friend, KatelynnsAuntie. :) I'm throwing a surprise bridal shower for my best friend who sometimes reads the DIS, thus the secrecy. ;) I don't want her to see my screen name and read the post. :D
Anyway, I'm trying to figure out ideas for a bridal shower for her. She and her DH-to-be have been living together for several years and are already in a house, so they don't really need much. But I want to do a shower for fun. They're going on a Disney cruise for their honeymoon, so I thought it might be fun to do a Disney Cruise themed shower. Do y'all have any ideas?

Things I was thinking of were beach towels lying around, order the free Cruise Line DVD and have it playing in the background, maybe some "guess the character" games or maybe "guess the destination" for stops on the cruise.

Any other ideas?"

You said they don't need much are they registering for the usual, china etc.

If not and people need gift ideas you could have cruise related gifts. e.g. a message at castaway cay, a spa treatment on board, a limo/towncar from the airport to the cruise. a night at a hotel before the cruise (if they are doing that), a gift certificate to Barnes and Noble to buy books to read by the pool.

Other Ideas:

Party theme: cruisining into your future together

tropical drink of some sort served in a cool shaped glass as people arrive (the glass could be the favor if you are having favors).

some sort of recipe that the cruise has. I have never gone but have read about chocolate souffle type of thing?

Games: don't they play a game of who wants to be a mouskateer on the cruise. You could do this with questions about the bride and groom.

A picutre of the ship in a white frame in which the guest sign messages of well wishing around the frame.

That's a nice idea!

My fav Bridal shower was always the time of day one! You assign each guest a "time" and they buy the gift to be something the couple would be doing at that time.

For instance, 8:00 am, a frying pan, for cooking breakfast.

People got very creative! :p We always fought over who got Midnight!!! ;) :earseek:

Order the Bride and Groom Ears and use those as centerpieces.:) You could make some Mickey mints or sandwiches or something.:)
