So confused! My kids are 3 and 6. If they are happy, we are happy. Thinking about 2-3 nights around Memorial Day.

Here are the things that I like of HRH, based on what I've heard:
- sandy areas and slides in the pools
- games and interactiveness (is that even a word?) of HRH. I can picture myself having a nice relaxing drink while the kids splash.
- the closeness of HRH to the parks.

What I don't like based on what I've heard:
- the loud bass/music

Is HRH the best choice with little kids?

Also, what protein can I find at breakfast and dinner in the different Club levels? Thanks!

I think for age 3 and 6 you would be better at Royal Pacific. They have the sand to play in and a giant water play area. They also do poolside games and activities. For Hard Rocks slide they have to be able to swim on their own to use it. My son used a life jacket when he was 6.

We always stay at Royal Pacific and poolhop to Hard Rock for an afternoon to swim and have lunch poolside, best of both worlds. They encourage pool hopping.:thumbsup2

The distance for Royal Pacific is now that far,you are closest to Islands of Adventure. But the boats are always running which are nice. They drop you right in the middle between the parks in Citywalk.

I agree with PP. I think you would be better off at Royal Pacific. We stayed at HRH in August (kids ages 14, 11 and 7) and LOVED it! However, the overwhelming majority of kids there were teens and tweens. Yes, they have poolside activities, but they are not geared toward the little ones at HRH. In fact, my 14 and 11 year olds played them far more than my 7 year old. Also, keep in mind that you can not see where the kids get on the slide from your chair (or even from the pool itself). My 7 year old loved the slide and I was OK with her going up alone after her brothers showed her the way, but there is no way I would let a 3 year old out of my sight like that. Also, there are movies by the pool at night, but they are things like Men in Black and Harry Potter so again geared towards older kids.

The music is everywhere (including the elevators) but we didn't find it to be loud at all. DH and I both turn 40 this year and it was all music we grew up with.

Thanks! This is helpful. Not being able to see the entrance to a slide is one of my pet-peeves, so I would want to avoid that. And my 6-year old loves slides. He's actually a good swimmer, can swim one length of the pool and back (pausing at one end) freestyle, without any floating aids. But we still watch him at all times, since he's still young.

So, if you stay in one resort, can you use the pools in the others? You can't do that at Disney, is Universal different?

Also, would PBH be better?

This is not Disney. :lmao: All kidding aside they encourage pool hopping. It's great because you get your cake and eat it too. :thumbsup2

Yes to the pool hopping. We did pool hop to PBH one day and it definitely seemed more geared to the little ones, but we weren't there too long so I don't really know. PBH does have a slide. According to DS12, it is shorter but a little faster than the one at HRH. He liked the one at HRH better, longer and more turns.
