Hi,

I have tried searching but can't seem to find a guide to renting out my points?

I have a feb use year and before end last month banked x resort points as I wasn't going to use them this year. I will be visiting florida at some point in 2011 but I am expecting a little bundle of joy in May and will wait until later in the year to see what I am going to do.

In summary I have x BANKED points that I could really do with renting out but I have no idea where to start from!!! (not sure if the fact that they are banked makes a difference?)

Any help or points in the right direction greatly appreciated,

many thanks,

Christie

Head to the rent/trade board as they have a lot of information of how to go about doing that. I have never done it so can't give you any personal advice.

Also, you may want to take out the specifics from your post (# of points and resort) as you are not supposed to include that information except in the Rent/Trade forum.

Good luck and congratulations!!!

Hi,

wasn't aware about the number of points and resort - have taken it out now. Thanks v much for letting me know!

I am searching through the rent trade board and perhaps I am being daft (which is totally possible!) but I can't seem to find anything to help me!!

Since your points are banked, they can not be transferred into another member's account. However, you can rent them. Renting points basically means you submit a Points for Rent thread to the Rent/Trade board, listing the number of points, expiration date, etc. Then, someone wanting to rent those points will contact you, either through a post or PM, and request that you to make a reservation for them using those points.

It is a good idea to have a contract, even if it is just an email agreement that lists the type of payment, date of payment, any cancellation policy (most members consider the reservation and rental a final transaction). Renting involves a lot of trust between owner and the renter.

For more info, read the sticky threads on the Rent/Trade board.

Another option may be to contact the Rent/Trade board sponsor (David's Rentals) and use him as a type of broker to rent your points for you.
