We hope to finally get back to disneyland in december, after two postponed trips during covid. We last went when my daughter was 6 and now she is 12 so super excited. Flights (refundable just in case) are booked but now need help with hotel pic. First trip we stayed at Carosol and then the last 2 were Paradise Pier, which seems out of budget for us right now. Looking at the following:
Home2Suites, JW Marriott, Radison Blu. In the end we would love:
Walkable (even is a 15 min walk)
Clean and newish (we are a bit snobby about hotels)
Under 300/night
Free breakfast if possible saves us quite a bit considering my 6'3" Norweigan husband eats like a football player.
Any recommendations?
Thank you in advance!

Homewood Suites. Really solid breakfast pre Covid...newish, clean, nice. Prob 15 minute walk.

The new Westin looks amazing (I'm a hotel snob also--give me new room any day over historic.) It's also getting better reviews than the JW.

100% on the Westin! I haven't stayed there, but I've been inside (We've eaten at Fleming's, yum) and it's GORGEOUS and brand new. You didn't say how many nights or what dates, but when I looked at 2nd week of Dec for 5 nights, 2 adults and a child it was a $278 a night rate...no breakfast, you can add that. FYI, the hotel has an amazing rooftop bar that has park views and firework views.

My Hubby and I live in So OC and like to stay at GCH for special occasions and staycations. We're seriously considering the Westin for our next stay.

The Westin looks amazing but is probably out of the budget. I am Canadian, it is showing as 350/night Canadian.
I am actually looking at the Candy Cane Inn as it is being totally renovated right now, including a full gut and new roof top air conditioning, etc, has a breakfast with gluten free options (nice for the Celiacs in the family) and has a heated pool for december. Plus, it was where I stayed as a kid so thinking it could be fun for a Christmas visit with my daughter. It is 179.99 a night American which is very affordable. Thoughts on that one?

Candy Cane even pre renovations has been a locals favorite for years. Always had great service but just understand it's motel style meaning outdoor walkways , but love the location and shuttle service that hopefully returns also.

I’m not sure any of the hotels are offering all you can eat breakfast. Most were doing a grab and go option. You will want to check on that. Candy cane is a motel and not comparable to your other choices.

I would look at the Hyatt House. It is relatively new (less than 10 years old I think.) Great breakfast, comfortable beds. Convenience store and Starbucks right next to the lobby. My husband & son walked it in 10, my daughter and I took 20 minutes.

I'm not sure about others or it was a fluke stay but I had the absolute WORST stay here out of every place I've stayed on Anaheim from Super 8 to Grand Californian.

Basically the walls were so thin , and we had a very loud and obnoxious family in connecting room next to us that had at least 6 people in one room . They woukd talk and yell so loud we could hear them the entire time over the TV and shower.
When we directly spoke to the front desk Basically said we'll nothing we can do and refused to even move us rooms. This was during touch of disbey event when it wasn't even that busy in the area. It was a one and done for me.
