Okay, I think I have decided to go with a car service to take us from Sanford airport to the Wilderness Lodge in Dec. I am afraid that since we will be arriving late in the evening (8:30) that if my husband gets us lost in a rental car I might have to kill him!!(lol) Anyway, can anyone give me the names of any car services that you can recommend. We will have 7 in our party- 3 adults, 2 16 year olds, an 11 and 8 year old. I am looking for the best rate and a reputable company. We dont need to make a grocery stop. Thanks for your help. We have never used a service like this before. :thumbsup2

go to taxi-sfb.com and you will find a few car service companies listed on that site. That will get you started.

I'd look at FL Tours, a board sponsor. Sunraytransportation seems to have a good following. It looks like the going price is over $200, many companies charge a little extra for a van. Gas, insurance and airport fees aren't cheap. I wouldn't trust any driver that's significantly cheaper than the "market" rate.

You can use Edd's site if you'd rather deal with an individual driver as opposed to a company.

If you don't need a full grocery stop consider asking the driver to stop at the Hess mini-mart, or the equivalent, and just grab some soda, bottled water or "fun food".

I recommend Sunray Transportation. Very happy with them for my MCO transfers. Had them booked for a transfer from Sanford last October, but PanAm canceled my fight and I ended up flying into MCO instead. Good Luck!

Thanks for the replies. Anyone else have any recommendations? How much do you tip someone for a ride to Disney? Thanks again

Check first and make sure the company didn't add on a mandatory gratuity/service charge.

The normal tip is 15-20%. Really 20% for a limo. Tip on the high side if you get a grocery stop, particularly if you go long. Even if you pay for the R/T divide your tip each leg seperately, in case you get a different driver.

The tip is 0 - 20% depending on the service you receive from the driver. He don't do anything for you, he doesn't talk to you or he doesn't come up with a few ideas don't tip him. Most drivers are pretty good and deserve a good tip, but there are some out there that don't deserve a dime.

Also very good advice from Lewis.
