Okay Ladies I need some help with gifts for my Wedding party! I hate the idea of getting them something they don't like!!!! Please Help!

I got mine a plane ticket but I only had one in my wedding party so.....
DH got the best man a dart board.

I am going a little over board but that is because most of the girls are my first cousins and I have grown up with all of them and they are all like sisters. Plus 3 out of the 4 are college students so I know it is tight for them coming to Florida but they are all so excited.

For the 4 bridesmaids I am buying their dresses, having their hair done on the day of the wedding, giving them a mongramed llbean tote with some freshwater pearls to wear the day of the wedding and $250 gift card to apply toward their hotel.

For the Jr bridesmaid I am doing the same but no giftcard and the MOH is my mom who I think I will be treating to a day at the spa.

Now I think whatever you can do within yours means and is from the heart is what you should do. I do not think anyone says yes to being a bridesmaid for the gift so I think anything you give them they will appreciate. All of my girls have really appreciated me buying the dresses (which after shipping works out to about $115 a dress) because this is one less expense they have to take on considering they are travelling from NY to Florida. Yhey have all profusly thanked me and noted that I should not do anything more...but I will because that's the way I am :goodvibes

Many people like to give the bridesmaids jewlery or handbags they can wear the day of the wedding- just a thought. Good luck!

I guess I forgot the little fact we are not going to Disney!!! We are only Disneymooning!!!

Getting them something personal is always nice. But I like the idea of getting them something they can use for the wedding or to help them out with the costs of being in the wedding. Giving them their jewlery to wear the day of the wedding is a nice one. As well as getting their hair done, helping off set the cost of the dress, or shoes.

I was recently in a wedding and the bride and her family paid for half our dresses. She also gave us tote bags, our jewlery, bath and body stuff, monogramed make up bags, our shoes, candle holder with candle, and one nights stay at the villa the night before the wedding as gifts.

I've also been in weddings where the gifts we were givin were not that big. Its what the bride and groom could afford. Its always nice to get something. Most of the times it was the jewlery we wore the day of the wedding. I've also in the past have gotten shot glasses, a flask (yes a flask), a journal, gift certificates and other things that were specific to me.

If I was you, I would try to get something like the jewlery to wear, and maybe something the is special to each individual. Its hard to get the same thing for everyone. You might be lucky and be able to do that though. Just stay within your budget. And remember, its the thought of the gift. Good luck.

I used to work at a store where I always had to suggest things, but truthfully I hated most of them! trinket boxes, music boxes, cheap jewelry, wine glasses...I think something more personally suited to each one. All the weddings I've been in I received jewelry to wear that day, and I never wear them any other time. Some ideas I like are Bath and Body Works (if they like them), picture frame with a special picture or engraved for a picture of the big day, maybe a nice photo album but so many like scrapbooks better now, a nice bottle of wine. I think a spa day together would be great! I'd just stay away from the "traditional" gifts and get something personal.

I ended up buying all of my bridesmaids, flower girl, and attendants gifts at the Bath and Body works sale this past summer!! :lmao: I spent about $20.00 per person and I got a TON of stuff!!! Each girl will receive 4 items: a bar of soap ($1) a piece, a small bottle of lotion and shower gell (2 for $5), and a large bottle of antibacterial hand soap ($4). I also happened to randomly come upon these purses at B&BW that were normally $18 ... but were discounted 75% ....... so they were only $4.50 a piece!! (or somewhere in that range!) I was SO EXCITED!! I am going to put the gift items in the purse with some tissue paper that is in my wedding colors!! I think that the B&BW items were the first thing that I bought after being engaged!! :rotfl2:

I also ordered the mickey/minnie personalized shirts from the Outlet store for each bridesmaid (which I received today!!). They say:

Karen and Jason's Wedding
Bridesmaid
__________(Bridesmaid's name)

:)

I bought totes from AC Moore that I will decorate with fabric paint and write their names on. :thumbsup2 I am buying their jewelry for the day. I will be buying some stuff from B&BW as well because they all LOVE it and I am thinking of buying the t-shirts. Our budget is so tight, we barely have enough money to spend on the wedding, nevermind the gifts... so, that's all I can afford and they all know our circumstances... thank goodness for great friendS!!!

For the men, we are purchasing their hats and chains for their tuxedos plus picking up an extra $5 or so for their tux. They are paying $125 and we are paying about $40.

We are also giving out welcome bags which I posted on another message. There will be door hangers, which I already began to make and experiment with. :goodvibes There will be bottled water, snacks, an itinerary and for the 4 children that will be coming, an autograph book and pen. :) :sunny:

I will be buying my bridesmaids each a necklace and matching earings that they can wear with their dress for the wedding. I will also be getting them a trinket box (try things remembered) and having their names or a special quote engraved on it. If you don't want to get them something for your wedding you could get them a gift certificate to their fave restaraunt, a message, their fave store, etc.

We gave our bridal party robes with their name on them to wear while getting ready at the GF, Disney Dollars and I had the bridesmaids jewelry made for the Wedding.
