help with getting the best rates

I'm new to these message boards so if I'm not posting this in the right spot let me know. I have been to Disney World numerous times(about 15 times now). But I've always gone with my family and never had to worry about the planning myself. My bf mentioned wanting to take me on a trip in September so I'm just trying to figure out how to get the best rates.

I know I want to have the park hopper feature added to my ticket and I think I want the dining plan as well. Is it better to book the hotel, the plane ticket, the park tickets and the dining plan seperately or as a package? I went on the AAA website and the prices they quote for trips are more then the Disney website. Do I need to call to get the lower AAA rate?

I think I have more questions but that's a start. Any help would be great!

To begin with if you want to do the dining package then you must book a package including room, tickets and dining. If you want to book this with a AAA discount, you must use a AAA travel agent. Disney cannot do this for you with AAA discount.

From what I have read in Passporter and other Disney sites I wouldn't book your flight through the "package" because you can get better deals if you do that separately and with a little research. However, with some codes, etc., the packages on WDW line is just a good as doing it all separately and it is less confusing.

Can I book the "package" without the flight? And can I do that with AAA? I know codes pop up now and then but I don't want to count on them and not have them pop up for me.

Yes you can book it without the air. Not a problem!
