Help with Frozen Lemonade

My son is lactose intolerant. He can have milk products if he takes a pill, but sometimes it's nice not to have to worry about it. Anyway, he's finishing up his Boy Scout Eagle this week, so I thought I'd like to do something fun. He loves frozen lemonade, so I thought as a surprise on Thursday, I might put lemonade in the ice cream freezer.

Have any of you tried this? Did it come out soft and smooth or icy? Did you use a special recipe? Any advice would be welcome.

Growing up, my Mother always made this as a treat during the summer months. Unfortunately, all I remember is her using a fork to "fluff" the lemonade as it froze. It ended up like a fluffy icee.

Now I have to make some!
