I'm fixing/remodeling my master bathroom. Decided to go with a freestanding soaking tub. I'm trying to do as much research as possible before choosing a brand but finding it difficult to find a lot of information. My contractor recommends acrylic but not any specific brand. I know I don't want jets because the main reason we have to do this is because the Jacuzzi tub we have there now leaks. The one article I found listed some tubs that were highly rated, for example AKDY brand, however when I looked more into that, they were poorly rated. Besides Home Depot and Lowes site, I'm having a hard time finding reviews. I'm hoping if anyone has a freestanding soaker tub that they love or any advice/tips/ suggestions/, they'd please tell me. TIA!

We have an MTI free standing air tub. I believe it's the same model they have in the Grand Floridian Villas. I knew I wanted a free standing tub when we remodeled our master bath, but wasn't sold on the air until we stayed in the GF Villas. One soak in that thing with the tiny air bubbles and I decided it was worth it!

Price them out first. There is a large variation in cost! Home Depot has a lot of Wyndham styles, which is what I went with. Not too expensive and they had a style I liked. Measure the area you have and see what is available that would fit.

Go to a specialty bath and kitchen store so you can see them in person and ask the people who sell them the pros and cons of each brand and finish. We were able to sit in a few of them and it became obvious really fast which ones we like and which we did not. There willl only a few on display, but you should be able to narrow down your preferences quickly.

A quality jetted tub should never leak. Don't dismiss them all over one bad tub.

We found a claw foot tub from a building that was being torn down. It was in amazing shape and needed nothing more than a good scrubbing and my dh sandblasted the feet and repainted them. We get so many compliments from people as it is in our guest bath. I will never have a tub that is not freestanding again, as I love having no caulking. I will add the old cast iron tubs clean so easily!!! It was a great bargain at $300.00
