My husband and I are staying for the first time in a 1 bedroom at Boardwalk in May! I was wondering if anyone can help me with where to request a room. I have heard about long hallways and blocked views and want to have the best possible since we will be there for 10 days. :) Normally I would be content sleeping on a park bench in Magic Kingdom, just as long as I am in WDW!;) but just looking for suggestions.
Now, since there are no kids, strollers and moving up and down staircases isn't an issue. We will have a car.
Any ideas or suggestions? Reasons why? Thanks.

Boardwalk views are a category.

What view do you have?

Also, in going on ten years of stays at the Boardwalk, we've had a request met ONCE. And that was my sister's cancer recovery trip which had that note on the reservation. In my experience, Boardwalk ignores requests for the most part - but other people have had better luck than I have had.

Whatever view category you have booked, make sure you check out the stairs near your villa. They can save you a bit of walking depending on where they come out and where you want to go. If you are at the end of the hallway, you're then closer to the Studios or the bus stop.

I just looked at the reservation and it says Garden/Pool view. I would think higher up would be better.. but wanted help from some "experts";) .
Again.. anywhere is WDW is better than home and we aren't very picky.
Thanks everyone!

I would request an upper floor---the only time I haven't loved my view was when we had a ground-floor room. Seems like I've seen that the grassy area just off the boardwalk is one of the garden views. People seem to like that view a lot---called something green. I wouldn't want to be too close to an elevator because of traffic/noise. Enjoy your stay. We love BWV.

Here's a photo map of BWV. You can see where the Garden/Water views are in red. Personally, we liked the quiet pool view but there is a pretty good variety of views. I think the only one we would not like would be near the back of the slide at the main pool.

Good luck with your requests. Like Crisi said, they seem to ignore them. We book exactly at the eleven month window and always request the same thing, upper floor, near elevator. I would say that 75% of the time we get neither one, 20% we get one or the other and maybe 5% of the time we've gotten both. The rooms are preassigned and they never seem to be able to change the assignment and we usually check-in before 1 p.m.

Hey AuntSue, We must always get the same CM that does the room assignments:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Thanks for the great info and for the map Granny! with how many times I have gone to the Boardwalk visiting and going by it on the boat, I never realized how big the Villas section is. Can't wait to try this resort!
