need some guidance, please. we took the kids to the poly in April. we all loved it, although I felt the rooms needed work.

we want to go back this april to WDW. I can get a std. view at the poly for the same price as garden view/club level at beach club.

we have never stayed at BC but did stay at boardwalk and liked it.

the only "big" issue is that I get very bus sick, very easily and we have to stay at resorts that minimize that. we are skipping AK this time so that travel is no factor but the kids love MK....and we would need teh bus from the BC.

do I suck it up for the beach club/club level or just pay the same price for no club level at the poly...?

Well, if you stay at the Poly you still have 1 park to ride to -- DHS (if you're skipping AK).

You're in the same position at BC -- since you can walk/boat to Epcot and DHS, you only have to ride bus to MK...so it's pretty equal.

But at BC, you get CL...so I would chose BC. :goodvibes

I have only stayed at BWI in Epcot area. Love Poly. But, if I could get a CL room anywhere for the price of a Standard View Room--I'd take it!!:thumbsup2 The BC is a beautiful resort and has been recently renovated. You can't beat CL. Also, we take taxi's when we don't want to take the bus's. This is also an option for your bus sickness. Hope you have a great trip!:goodvibes

tough decision! I have stayed at most club levels and have to say I am not a huge fan of the BC club level but it does save on some cost of food. The poly however is my all time favorite resort and just love the atmosphere and you cannot top the transportation options!! It is fun to stay at new resorts and i also love the boardwalk/epcot area but my pick would still be the poly. Are you going during April vacation because the buses can get very crowded then-not fun!

we are going april 23-29 so the crowds should be much lighter then.....still not sure what to do. the kids are dying to go back to "Hawaii".......but common sense tells me that club level is a great way to save money on breakfast costs...... I wish I could just book both now and take time to think about it!

Ooh club level would be so cool. But I will admit that the bus from BC to the Magic Kingdom was the worst ever.

Could you do a split stay? Maybe do POly for a few days and concentrate on MK and then move over the BC for your Hollywood Studios and Epcot days?

ETA: Theoretically you could walk all the way through Epcot and take the monorail to MK. But that is a heck of a lot of walking and you would need a park-hopper. I would hate to do that any time you want to go to MK.

we did this each time back in 2010. it quickly became "not so fun"!!!

We've stayed at both (although not CL at either) and while we did like our BC stay, the Poly is our favorite between the two. The Poly rooms are quite a bit larger than the rooms at the BC, we love having the beach for watching the fireworks, and Captain Cooks is our favorite resort CS. With that said, we have stayed CL at other resorts and it is nice having snacks and drinks throughout the day as well the lounge for taking a break. If you think you will be around the resort to take advantage of the lounge and offerings, BC might be nice to try for something different, especially since you've stayed at BWI and like the Epcot area. Good luck.

I'd go with the Poly... Not a fan of CL at any resort, with the savings over CL, you could lay in a tons of stuff for the children for breakfast, they pick anyway and a box of cereal and milk doesn't equal the cost of CL.... The rest of the CL offerings means you have to be there when they serve it, meaning leaving a park and heading to your resort.... So for us, CL is a waste..

Y&B, we've done both but we were into EPCOT that trip ( daughter was doing CP and worked in EPCOT). Beside that trip, we are MK fans and rather spend more time there than any other park, so the Poly would fit better over the EPCOT resorts, though the Poly is over priced anymore, our choice for the MK area resorts is WL, smaller resort, under one roof and alot cheaper ..

I love the Poly too. Stay there often. However, the OP stated "I can get a std. view at the poly for the same price as garden view/club level at beach club. Therefore, they would save some money with CL at BC with some food inclusions over Standard View Poly--same cost. I guided them toward BC where I normally would have said Poly for this reason. I get what you are saying, but they would get a better deal in this case.:goodvibes

Because of your bus issue I say go with the Poly. The Epcot resorts have been known to share one bus for 5 resorts..not only is it very time consuming but nauseating from the stop go stop go

yep....that's what equalizes the decision. and, we are going after one of the longhouses in the poly should be refurbished. if I could be guaranteed to be in that one now, then the poly would be the choice for us because I do really love it there. it was the dinginess of the rooms that made me feel like we only paid to be on the monorail vs. having any sort of decent room (bad carpets, old blankets, bad tub pipes, etc.)

I've stayed at both BC and Poly many times and love them both. BC is my favorite and Poly is my second favorite - we often split stays because we recognize the advantages of each. In your case, I'd go with BC CL over Poly for a number of reasons.

1) Pool. You're going in April. SAB is an amazing pool. That would be a significant factor for us. Most of our Poly stays are in cooler months and BC stays in warmer months.

2) CL savings/convenience. CL is a huge benefit and will certainly be a cost savings. It's SO easy to get breakfast for the kids staying CL. Not just the cost, but the convenience of having easy access to breakfast, snacks, drinks and desserts. The convenience factor is huge.

3) Transportation. As mousemommy mentioned, if you're skipping AK, then Poly means bus to DHS and BC means bus to MK. So either way, that's a bus to just one park. The last time we took the bus from Poly to DHS, there were other stops. When we take the bus from BC to MK, it either goes direct to MK (15 minutes) or if the bus is relatively empty, stops at BWI. I timed that stop and it adds three minutes to the trip. On the way back from MK to BC, it does stop at S/D and YC. We always say that if we're ready to get off the bus, we'll do so at S/D or YC and then enjoy a short walk back to BC. If you can handle the bus at BWI, the bus at BC will be fine.

4) Variety. You just stayed at Poly - fun to mix it up by trying BC!

5) Room decor. One of the reasons I prefer BC over Poly is the light, bright rooms at BC. They aren't in Four Seasons condition, but they're great for a WDW deluxe.

6) More transportation. When we stayed at CR in October, the monorail was running less-than-smoothly. Nice to walk home from Epcot or DHS (or boat.)

So after saying all that, I still love Poly - we're splitting our stay between Poly and BWI later this month to mix it up a little more. So I think you'll make a great choice either way!

Rent a car and stay where you want. Problem solved. ;)

Otherwise Poly is your only option.
