Help with dog grooming cost for this guy

I have nothing to add to this tread (as I literally can't even hazard a guess as to how much dog grooming costs not being a dog owner) other than to request that you PLEASE keep posting pictures! I'm so in love with your pup -- he's super adorbs!!!! :lovestruc

I just wanted to reach in through the computer screen and give Buster a big cuddle, he is too adorable! Don't forget to post a picture of him after he is fancied up.:)

I have a small poodle mix and pay $25 for just a bath, trim and nail clip.

And yes, go to a local groomer. Mine has a doggy daycare, too, so he runs around in the yard all day before and after his turn.

Last week, DD talked me into getting him a mohawk! That was $50 cause they had to cut most of his coat down really short. The top of his head is really dark brown, so she goes around saying "I pity de fool!".

Not necessarily on topic but related... get that adorable pup used to being touched as much as you can. Rub his face and ears, around his eyes and lift his lips up. Play with his paws and all that. It goes a super long way in teaching them that you aren't going to hurt them because all those gestures would typically be threatening and makes things much easier if you ever need to check them for injury, or for a groomer or vet to work on them.

aaaah! He's soooo cute! I have a shih tzu and usually pay about $40.00 plus tip to get her groomed.

What an adorable dog. I like everyone else, is in love with him! My poodle is groomed for $40 each time I take her. She gets what is called a puppy cut. Its a basic clip all one length. That price includes nails, a bath, ears cleaned.

Thanks again everyone. Getting some good tips on what to have done.

Here's another pic with my oldest daughter.

He is very cute.

We take ours in for $10 nail trims once a month or so (PetCo). We only take him in for a full spa day once or twice a year. He's short haired, no trimming needed - we do brush him out - especially in the Spring sitting outside on the step.

The more you can get him to tolerate at home (mine will tolerate nails at home if my husband is around to hold him - but its a two person job and my husband hates it), the fewer trips to the groomer you will need.

Good advice. Thanks!

I got my Yorkie done today. Cut, nails etc $45 at Petsmart. (My local groomer was gross. Place was dirty and she "lost" my dog one time.).

I do routine baths myself and my vet dies nails for free
