Hi All,

A few questions about the dining plan. First of all, our window for our trip is this Sunday, I believe. Is the reservation line open on weekends? If so, what are the hours?

Secondly, I need some help picking out some new restaurants from you pros! Below was the list of restaurants we attended last time (first time on the DP) with our thoughts on them:

Day 1 (Dinner) Whispering Canyon Café, Wilderness Lodge. (we loved the atmosphere, interaction, and thought the food was good (but not great).
Day 2(Dinner) Epcot-Japan, Teppan Edo (liked the food and atmosphere, but fealt we could get this at any local restaurant)
Day 3(Lunch) Epcot-Canada, Le Celier (really liked the food and atmosphere)
Day 4(Dinner) Ohana, Polonessian Hotel (we thought this was the best food! Also loved the atmosphere)
Day 5(Dinner) Crystal Palace, Magic Kingom (probably the most dissapointed with this. Food wasn't that good and the atmosphere was just ok.)
Day 6(Dinner) Boma, Animal Kingdom Lodge (great atmosphere, food was ok).
Day 7(Dinner) Boatwrights, Port Orleans (atmosphere was lacking, but the food was actually much better than we expected).

This trip, we're also doing 7 nights. The ones we've decided to do again are:

1) Whispering Canyon Cafe
2) Le Celier
3) Ohana

For our other 4 nights, we would like to go to place we have not yet been. This is where I need your help! So far, the only other one we KNOW we want to try is Chef Mickeys. So, that leaves 3 true spots. What do you suggest? I heard there was a place at the GF (I think) that was suppose to be excellent? We're really open to anything - we'd also love to hear your thoughts as to WHY we should choose that location.

Our party consists of 4 adults, 1 toddler, and 1 infant.

Thanks!

The online system is up at 3am, phones open 7am both EST 7 days a week.As for suggestions, we really like Cape May Clam Bake at the BC resort, Marrakesh or Les Chefs de france in Epcot

Ah, I did not know you could book online. That's 3am EST, I assume?

Do you need to create an account or something to do that? Or just your reservation number? I also booked my parent's reservation (seperate reservations number) but have it linked to mine. Can I only make a reservation for the size of my reservation or can I make it for as large as I want (aka: both of our reservations).

Thanks!

If you liked Ohana, I hear Spirit of Aloha is great! Akershus and 1900 Park at Grand Floridian are good princess meals. The Grand Floridian is definitely worth a visit if you haven't been. For more of a fun atmosphere like Whispering Canyon, I recommend 50s Prime Time Cafe; lots of silly stuff goes on there. And we loved Biergarten in Germany. The food was surprisingly good and the floor show as fantastic. It will keep your whole party entertained, even the infant.

Thanks for the info! Very much appreciated!

One question, are any of the ones you mentioned (mainly, the spirit of Aloha) considered signature meals and as such need 2 TS credits? Or are they all just 1 TS credit?

I think you have to create an account. you will also need you ressie number, last name, date of arrival and resort you are staying in when you book online. i have made ressies for a party of 6 and haven't had any problems. my brother will be joining us for some of our stay...otherwise we are a party of 4. hope it helps.

Yes Est.You need to have your ressie number because that will unlock the +10 for you if you are an onsite guest. My advice is to go to the website to play with it a little to familiarize yourself with how it works.

Thanks all!

Any word on the Spirit of Aloha, is that one TS credit, or two?

it is 2 credits - I just read a dining review on the dining review board that had some pictures - there is a tiered system of seating as well - just use the Disboards Search Function!

and I have been trying to access the online adr system but always get an "E02...." error code... and again, if you search - you will see it is a common error, the system goes down quite a lot!! Just be prepared!!

keep in mind that if you cant book online at 3am est - you may have problems getting LeCellier and Chef Mickeys - do have a back up plan!

The Wave at Contemporary gets great reviews - and is within walking distance of the MK! For LeCellier - for a 1 TS the World Showcase has so many options just spend some time looking (and drooling) at the pictures in the dining reviews!! (Rose and Crown, Coral Reef, Biergarten, etc etc)

Grand Floridian - Buffet is 1900 Park Fare - character buffet with Cinderella, Prince and those step people! The food used to be a reason for us to book this, but lately it seems Disney is streamlining food (ie no prime rib on buffets, a very good roast beef or sirloin roast) There is a Grand Floridian Cafe that gets good reviews - again, I'd search and read the menus at allears.net

Boma also has gotten so so reviews - but the other TS new restaurant is Saana and it sounds like it has some great choices if you are wanting to travel to AKL!

Since you liked Ohana - I'd stay with that one - we prefer ordering our own food at Kona - so just keep in mind that there are good reviews and bad reviews for EVERY place - go with what sounds like a fit for your family!

if you are looking for a 2TS experience Contemporary's California Grill and over at Yachtclub - Yachtsman's Steakhouse are great choices!!

Just know - you are at Disney - its all good!! :wizard:

We just got back from 8 days at Disney last week, and our best meals HANDS DOWN were Coral Reef at Epcot (huge surprise, I wasn't expecting the food to be as fabulous as it was!), Kona Cafe at the Poly, and Le Cellier, which we were repeating from a previous visit and it was just as good as we remembered. If you can get ADRs at any of those three, you won't be sorry!

I totally forgot about The Wave at the Contemporary. It was really great. Oh wait a minute, Yak-n-Yeti was really good too! We had some really great meals.

My least favorites were Cape May Cafe, Tutto Italia, and Wolfgang Puck Cafe (the sit down one; the CS Wolfgang Puck was great).

Hope you get some good ADRs!

RMulieri, this is the link to the Disney dining online ADR system: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/. Choose a restaurant and click "book a reservation, and youl'l be taken to that restaurant's reservation page. The only way get it to recognize your 90+10 is to enter your resort reservation number. Click on the words "retrieve your reservation" above the calendar, and enter the resort reservation number, last name, date of arrival and resort. If the system is working properly - which is an iffy proposition these days - it will come back and note that you have a reservation at whichever resort for whatever days. On your 90th day out from our arrival day, entering this info will unlock the extra ten days for you. Even before the 90 days, you can go to this site and play around with dates and restaurants, just to see what they system is like so it won't be so foreign to you.

Thanks:goodvibes...But I already have it.It has been very temperamental. My 90 days was 9/14.I got up at 250am and was on by 3am.it then took till after 4am and actually closer to 5am to get it to not give me the dreaded "E" code, then I finally got in and the system kicked me out when I tried to check out.By 6am I finally had my adrs, but it was the BIGGEST PIA and I won't be using the online system to do my adrs for next year unless they fix the dang glitches

Yeah, the online system has been a real pain lately. I was one of the lucky ones who had no problem getting in at 3 AM and getting everything I wanted with no system glitches. But I guess I'm a member of a very small club. Hope you got everything you wanted.

Nope..I couldn't get Coral Reef for anywhere from 545-645pm on Sat, Dec 12th, and I had to lie and say I was a prty of 4( we are 3) to get my daughters BDay dinner at Garden Grill...I tell you it is ridiculous how hard some of these things are getting.

What about a restaurant at DHS? We loved the fried chicken at 50's Primetime Cafe. Also great milkshakes. And I believe you can get the milkshakes as your beverage and still get a dessert!! :-)

We also liked Sci-Fi theater just for the fun. Good burgers and shakes.

We liked the fish and chips at Rose & Crown. Also good apple crumble. But they did horrible on my steak. This time I am getting the fish & chips.

We're trying a couple new places this year too....Mama Melroses - I want to try the chicken parmesian. It looks fabulous. And then Chef de France...the beef tenderloin steak with pepper sauce looked really good.

Have fun on your trip.

Chef Mickey is fun for seeing the characters, you don't get a lot of time from them, but it's still nice. You should check out the 1900 Park Fare (at the Grand Floridian) Supercallifragilitsic Breakfast. It has Mary Poppins & friends, Alice & friends and a Pooh friend.

I second the recommendation on the Biergarten. We went last Sept. with 11 people and EVERYONE loved it. The food was great, the music was fun, it's a relaxed atmosphere. My kiddos (DS3 and DD 14 mo. at the time) loved watching the band so much that as they danced in their seats while happily munching away (most food they ate of the entire vacation) we stayed for a second band set to dance on the dance floor! We took pictured with the band after the second set because the kids loved them so much! It was a hoot!

BTW, buffets with kids under 3 are a great value as they can just eat off your plate.
