I don't shop; I hate it. I would love some help. I really need to redo my bedroom. I have a comforter on my bed that is a king and my bed is a queen. I think this stuff is about 10 years old. Here is what I need help with:

1. Prefer to order online-going to a store is so annoying to me I would likely never get around to it-hence the 10yo stuff.
2. I'm liking the new chocolate/aqua or chocolate/seaform I see in magazines; however, I am more of a country type person and not contemporary.
3. Biggest problem--I have an oversized mattress. The normal queen sized comforters (86 inches) don't work and the king size (101inches) is too big.
3. I would love to get it all matching so I don't have to try and act like I have a decorator's eye.
4. I need comforter, bedskirt, shams, sheets (oh and my sheets must be 1000 count), 2 valences (I like curtains but so would my daughter's cat and they would be ruined very quickly-he loves to climb curtains), and any little extras that match. Also my windows have these horrid wooden slat shades I would love to change out.
5. Once I find something I like I will be back for painting help. right now I have yellow walss with some kind of baby poo green trim my ex paints about 10 years ago.
6. Furniture is more shaker type with black/cherry wood top on dresser and headboard is cherry wood that matches dresser.

Help a clueless decorator please!!

editing to add I have this on budget board because I am a poor single mom so as budget as possible please. I don't have thousands to spend on this project.

I know you said online shopping, but if you have one nearby I would seriously recommend Marshall's / HomeGoods. I got a new comfortor set with shams & throw pillows for $89.99 (king size). For that price, I don't have to live with it for 10 years. If I hate it in 3 years, I can replace it...

If HomeGoods is out of the question, then my next suggestion would be JCPenney online. They have a lot of nice sets reasonably priced, and they often have matching valances as well.

For your windows, if you switch to pleated shades or blinds, with a valance on top, your cat should not be able to climb it. Valances top the windows, they don't hang to the floor. I ordered all my pleated shades from Penneys and they are good quality, and weren't too much money.

Sheets I can't help with too much, again I would try Penneys if you must shop online, otherwise try bed bath and beyond. Costco sells reasonably priced sheet sets, but I don't know if they have the counts you are looking for.

Good Luck!

wait for Kohls to have a 30%off code and order a complete set on line.

I always make sure mine is washable as I do not want the expense of dry cleaning. You might have to go piece by piece. I find the sheets with the extra deep are not usually with the sets.
