Sorry guys, I have posted too many questions today - I promise this is the last one :)

It's a long one though.....

I am trying to work out which dining reservations I need to make for my trip to DLP in 3 weeks, as I like to have things like that booked in advance.

Can I trouble the experienced DLP-ers amongst you (I know Orlando backwards but haven't been to Paris since it was only one park and almost everything seems to have changed) to have a quick look at my rough plan (below) and help me make a couple of decisions?

thank you!

Day one

We (myself and 5-going-on-6 year old son) land at Paris CDG at around 5pm on the Sunday evening - and expect to arrive at our hotel - the Sequoia Lodge - by 7pm (we're getting the high speed train from terminal 2)

I don't want us to have a very late night on the first night, as the following day will be a long one, and I don't want my son to start off the day exhausted. But we will need to eat.

Ideally I'd like to dump the cases at the hotel and head straight into Disney Village for dinner at Cafe Mickey around 7:30pm, and then take a stroll back to the hotel, have a little look around, and have my son all tucked up by 9pm.

So - at this point - a question or two. Are those timings even feasible? I think it looks a bit tight. Is Cafe Mickey the best choice for dinner? Should we just eat in the hotel instead and maybe have a swim and a wander about the grounds and do CM another day?

Opinions happily received

Day two

We want to take full advantage of the Extra Magic Hours on this day - but we will want some sort of breakfast - so I'm not sure whether to try for a very early brekkie in the hotel and then hot foot down to the park to get there for 8am - or swap for the Good Morning Fantasyland breakfast, and have that around 9:30 or so once we have got a couple of rides under our belt.

If we do the former, then I would probably book a character lunch at the Lucky Nugget on this day also. If the latter, then I would hope we could eat (or stow away!) enough at breakfast to avoid going to lunch altogether.

Do queues drop dramatically in the late afternoon / evening? I was wondering if it might be worth going back to the hotel around 2ish, having maybe a swim or a rest, and then getting back to the park for the 5pm-9pm shift.

If we had had the buffet lunch at the Lucky Nugget then I would dispense with a formal evening meal - just grab something fast foody.

If not then we would want an evening meal in the Lucky Nugget instead.

I'd definitely like to go there for one or the other of the meals, as my son adores character dining.

Day three is easier

Brekkie in the hotel around 8am then aim to be at Disney Studios gate by 9:15, so that we can hot foot it to crush's coaster as soon as the rope drops :)

I think we'll have a light lunch this day and then an evening meal at either Cafe Mickey (if we didn't get there on day one) or the Rainforest cafe in the Village

Day four

This is going to be a long day - we don't fly out of CDG till gone 9pm and it will be very late by the time we get home - so I don't want too early a start. So I think we'll go for a late-as-possible hotel breakfast (or possibly cafe Mickey again?) and then a relaxed mopping up of any rides we didn't already catch, or want to ride again, during the day. We won't bother with lunch as I'm booking the birthday tea at the Plaza for my son on this day.

So - what do you think?

Please help me make up my mind what to do about dinner on day one, and breakfast on day two specifically. And whether it will be worth doing brekkie in cafe Mickey on our last day when we will have already been there for dinner previously. As then I can get on with it and book our reservations :)

Haha, your plans sound so similar to mine!! Lol.

On my first night though I'm eating at Walts.

I wouldn't want to rush for a reservation, and seeing as you have little'un to get to bed maybe CM would be a bit of a rush? But if your train is definitely very fast you should be OK and it would be great for the first night! We are having lunch there on our last day.

Our second day we are having 7am breakfst in SQL and then lunch at Lucky Nugget.

3rd day we are doing FL breakfast and then Dinner at Rainforest cafe.

You could alwasy have Cafe Mickey as a goodbye meal as oppoed to a hello one. I hear the buffets at Sl and NPB are both very good.

yes, very similar!

I did look at Walts - but thought maybe it was a bit too upmarket for me and my little un :)

the thing is we might even be at the hotel as early as 1/4 past 6 or so.... in which case I'll kick myself I didn't go for Cafe Mickey at 7-7:30. But I can't guarantee it.

I think maybe the buffet at the SQL is the way to go for the first night. I just had it in my head that I wanted my son to have some character interaction on the first day - but I don't want to take him into the parks as I'll never get him out again :)

Hopefully the promise of a swim will make up for having to wait an extra day to see Mickey.

decisions decisions :)

I did Cafe Mickey with DD2 last time we went on the day we arrived at DLP and seeing as we had been up since3 4.30am she loved it. We had dinner at 6.30pm. But seeing as you are there for more than one night maybe it might be easier to go the next day etc that way you wont be tired and can get the most out of all the character interaction.

Rainforest cafe is lovely, great choice there and im sure your son will love the Lucky Nugget, we did :)

I wouldn't worry at all: I brought mine (18 months and 3.5 yo) last Nov and they were fine. The restaurant is lovely, but it is not "posh" at all ;)

Personally I think I would eat in the hotel the first night - you might even get lucky and see a character there. Re. the Lucky Nugget, it's only open in the evening when the park is open till 11, so I would check if that's the case, otherwise make it lunch there.

oh, I didn't realise that (about the lucky nugget)

thank you for that

and also thanks for the warning about the rice on the other thread

No problem - hopefully it will be veggie, it definitely was the first time we went.

You cant book GMFL breakfast until you arrive now and it isnt always available so you wont know til you arrive what time/where breakfast will be. if you do get given a late time slot in the hotel though you can always go in earlier.

I dont think Id want to book Cafe Mickey on the first night and risk being late, your DS being too tired to enjoy it properly etc. I think id be tempted to eat at the hotel or try to get into Annettes or Rainforest cafe in the Village where you cant book anyhow.
You will often find characters in the hotels in the evenings so worth a wander into New York as you are passing as well as checking to see if they may appear at SL

I'd do Cafe Mickey on the day you go to the studios. If you nip out of the studios at luch time it's only a 5min walk to Cafe Mickey.

We ate at lunch time here last week. It was so much quieter so we got more character time. Every evening we passed Cafe Mickey they were queing out of the door!

Lucky Nuggets great, though as mentioned before it's only open for lunch.
