Help with decisions for AP...

Hey guys...I always seem to get the PERFECT answer here so this is why I am asking this question. Last August 09, we purchased Annual Passes for the first time! They were great as we used them a numerous amount of time and really paid off for us!!! They will be expiring this Aug 2010. My question is...do I need to renew the day they are expiring or can I purchase a new AP....as we will be going PROBABLY Labor Day week Sept 2010 and again for Christmas December 2010 and August 2011. When would you suggest would be the best time for me to purchase new AP's ? Thanks so much as I am unsure how this works!

not sure how the 30 day rule applies - besides since you would be renewing in Aug - when ap still get the extra 3 months. might go with it - if it apples.

might get the ap certificate before then - because there is a chance that rates will go up in Aug.

As you are traveling the first part of September, you can renew it then...there is a one month renewal grace period. That is assuming you are traveling early enough in August 2011, to use them, because renewals do backdate to the original expiration date.

If you are traveling too late in August 2011, to use the renewal, you can purchase a new pass...but you'll miss out on the renewal discount.

The Renewal Rate for an Adult DVC AP is $45 less than the price of a new DVC Adult AP.

Over the last several years Disney has increased ticket prices on the first Sunday in August. There usually is only a couple of days notice prior to the prices taking affect.

There is an ongoing passholder renewal special through 8/31/10. If you renew your APs by 8/31 the renewal period is 15 months from renewal activation. Your DVC discounted renewal rate still applies.
