Help with CVS coupons

I see that CVS has a deal going on with their Purina Beneful wet dog food where it is buy 3 for $6 but I see people saying they can get it for free. How exactly do they get it for free? I have a CVS card but don't have any "bucks" on it. If someone could walk me through it step by step I would be grateful.

Not only is it 3/$6 but if you spend $15 on beneful you'll bet $3 in ECB back.

Now as to how they are getting it "free"; what they are doing is combining manufacturers coupons with ECB with store coupons. If you don't already have a stockpile of mfg coupons look online for printable coupons for beneful or in your local paper this weekend. Also check iheartcvs to see if there are any coupons for x/xx coupons they won't work for everyone but I've had luck using them if I go when the coupon friendly cashiers are working.

This is where I am confused. If I do not have any ECB I could not get it for free also the coupons people are using are $2/1 but that is the same as $6/3. If you get 3 bucks for spending 15 that means you have to buy 8 cans and you get 3 bucks back so really 8 cans for 13 bucks. Do you have to keep repeating this process until you eventually dont have to pay anything for the food?
