I am trying to make a countdown calendar out of felt with felt pockets to put little things in for my kids. I have some pins and croc art to put in the pockets. I was thinking a black mickey head, but would appreciate any ideas anyone might have. I am also looking for some hints on how to make sure it is put together correctly.

thank you!

I am going to have to start making something soon - do I need to put weights in the bottom to keep it from curling.

thanks anyone

Do not get discouraged because no has repied to your post - it probably is because no one has experience with this.

I am not sure exactly what you are after but if you are looking to do pockets, it sounds a little like the things they call "fish extenders" on the cruise board.

Maybe you could search a little over there.

I know once upon a time someone posted somthing about them here and there was a link. But your best bet would probably to go the cruise area of the boards and look around.

I hope somehow this is helpful.

This is a picture of a fish extender--

If you are using felt I'm not sure any t-shirt transfer would adhere to felt.
You might have to do a test piece.

I would try a dollar store and see if I could find a fish extender made of cloth .
Are you looking for clip art to iron on the pockets of the fish extender.?
If so what type of images are you looking for ,,cruise,,Mickey ,,Minnie????

Home depot sells pieces of doweling that they will cut for you to use at the bottom and top of the fish extender.
Please post more info as many people don't understand what a fish extender is.

Also many people use rubbermaid closet shoe holders

P.S Ikea also sells these

I am thinking
are you using felt on felt--this maybe difficult to do,,

why not try cutting out the pockets in the shape of Mickey heads (in felt) and sewing (hot gluing)them onto the background which I'd use a heavy strong material. Roll your edges of the material over a piece of dowel and hot glue or sew.

now I'm thinking about all of this I just might have to try this myself,,,
Hugs Hon
Hopefully others will chime in with advise

Awesome! Thank you so much and the idea of putting mickey heads on felt seems a lot simpler.

I am just way out of my league, but know that I can do something for my DS and DD.

Thank you! Thank you!
