Help with complicated ticketing issue

I've got a complicated ticketing issue that isn't quite addressed in the ticket sticky, (at least that I can find), and I'm hoping someone can help. Here's my situation:

1. We are going to Disney World for 9 days from 10/26 - 11/4. (We don't plan to go into the parks on 11/4 as that's our flying out day). Our party includes myself, my wife, and our daughter.

2. Our travel agent was only able to let us purchase an 8 day ticket because of whatever group rates they get them at;

3. We purchased and plan on going to one MNSSHP on 10/29. I understand that ticket gets you into the park starting at 4:00 PM. that day. We would like to be able to go to Magic Kingdom that morning as well since it should theoretically be one of the least crowded MK days of our trip;

4. My sister works for Disney and has two transferable one-day park tickets that she has given to me. They state on the ticket that you can add them to your MDE but you can't make fast passes with them until something like 6 or 7 days out.

5. I plan to purchase one additional 1 day ticket for my daughter;

6. Our 60 day fastpass window starts this coming Tuesday. My plan for now is, using my 8 day ticket and my MNSSHP ticket, to make fastpasses as normal for the 8 days we are not going to the halloween party, and to make fastpasses starting at 4:00 PM on the day we are going to the halloween party.

7. At some point closer to the trip I would try to add the complimentary tickets and purchase the third one day ticket, and then when we're within 7 days, or maybe the day of, I'll see if I can grab any earlier fastpasses. We're not picky and our daughter is pretty young so it's not like we're trying to get any of the really in-demand fastpasses anyway.

Does anyone see a flaw in this plan? Am I going to have issues getting these additional tickets added to the account? Do I need to go to guest services to get them added and make sure they are the tickets that get used on a particular day? Any advice is appreciated. Feel free to point out why this plan won't work. In a worst case scenario we're debating just giving the tickets back to my sister and spending the morning at our resort on our halloween party day, but I really hate to miss out on such a low-crowd day at the parks.

7. Add those tickets now and book FPs for those Comp tickets. The 60-day FP window allows booking using those comps entitlements...the 7 day rule converts to 60 for onsite guests.

I'm confused. You have 8 day tickets ......you get there the 26 and not going into parks on the 3 ......so 26,27,28,29,30,31,1,2 . Isn't that 8 days, why do you need the extra one day tickets?

Yeah, you’re right, I mistyped it. We’re flying back Monday November 4th. Our park days are 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 1, 2, 3.

ok, that makes sense. Didn't want you to buy extra tickets, if you were so focused on FPs, you miscounted the days.

Thanks, I appreciate it. We were back and forth on purchasing the extra ticket but figure we’re paying so much already to be there and stay there on property anyway that we might as well, and I”d hate to miss a low crowd morning at Magic KIngdom.

You can just add on Day#9 to 1 person when you arrive at the parks and then try for overlapping FPs to match the others.

Do you plan on staying the whole night at the Halloween party? If so skip the am there and go in at 4 pm. We always take the party day “off” from the parks. Otherwise it’s just too exhausting. We hit the ground running at 4 pm and don’t stop till close to 1 am. We are exhausted at that point.

You have so many park days planned, you say your child is young and you won’t be riding the big headliners, I think it’s fine to have one day where you don’t go into the parks. I was just in the parks last week on a party day, I did not find the crowds to be much lower at all.

It's early and my brain may not be working quite yet, but with an 8-day ticket and MNSSHP ticket, you can make all your FP+ now without the added ticket. For your MNSHHP day, if you are making FP+ for the 4-6 pm time period, you can't make FP+ during the day even if you have a ticket for that day. So just make your 8 days surrounding the party and then use the party ticket to make FP+ from 4-6 on the MNSHHP day.

Except that it sounds like they have convention tickets. For upgrades, technically, they will only get credit for what they paid (I.e., they won't be bridged, unless they get a huge amount of pixie dust) which means it will negate any savings from purchasing these tickets.

They are really better off getting 9-day tickets from UT instead.

Are you sure that buying the extra 1-day ticket plus the 8-day convention ticket is a better deal than simply buying a 9-day ticket from Undercover Tourist? 1-day tickets are pricey and an additional day after 8 days does not add much cost at all.

It sounds like they've already purchased the 8-day ticket and they do have the two free one-day tickets, so buying one more child day ticket is really their only option for THIS trip.

If it’s the travel agent I’m thinking of with group rate tickets no changes can be made once you get to WDW. It’s part of the special.

I had this dilemma last trip with the TA deal since the tickets only go to 8 days. I just bought from UT and got 10 day PH.

Exactly. I've "purchased" convention tickets through a specific TA. They were capped at 8-days. I know they can modify their reservation to remove the tickets.

It used to be that you could not change the ticket at all once you were onsite, but my understanding is that now you can, but you only get the value you paid for them, so no savings (they are not bridged).

I think it's much more straightforward and probably about the same price to just purchase the 9-day tickets from UT.

They can definitely remove the tickets. I did that this past trip and even received my money back. I did it a few weeks before the 60 days fir FP+.
