Help with combining reservation

We have two reservations, both made through the Disney website, both for a 2 bedroom villa at Copper Creek. The first reservation is for Tuesday through Sunday. The second reservation is for one night only Sunday to Monday. I wanted to add a day, but that was the only why I could do it online. The stay is about 30 days from now. Our Park days are Tuesday through Sunday with 6 days of tickets. We have dining reservations each day Tuesday through Monday. I called today to see if they could link/combine the reservations to alert the front desk that we would like to stay in the room, if possible, for the second reservation, since it is the same room type. I would prefer not to move for one night, but can live with it if that is the only option. The cast member told me the only way to guarantee the same room would be to cancel the last night, add the one night to the first reservation, but she could not guarantee the 30% off rate and said my dining on Monday would be cancelled and I would have to rebook that dining. How should I problem solve this one? Should I just leave it as is and call to the front desk of the hotel directly a couple days before check in, worry about it at check in, or call back to the reservation line and see if I can get a more helpful person?

The CM was incorrect about the dining reservation - it would not be impacted. But correct about probably losing your discounted rate.

I recommend you call again. Have both reservations noted as continuing. When you check in, again mention the 2nd reservation and request to stay in the same room. It isn’t guaranteed but WDW would prefer not to clean the room for 1 night so hopefully they can accommodate.

I'd leave as is and agree calling again is a good idea. Worst case scenario you'd have to move. While nothing is guaranteed, there's a good chance it might be combined.

My trips are always changing, in COVID mainly due to airline cancelations, etc. or me adding a day or two. My reservations have been combined 3x since August. Twice at Coronado (One trip I'd booked a couple of nights for the Tower and a couple standard and we were placed in the Tower for all days, that was nice!!).

The other time was at Pop, I had a one-night stay booked directly through Disney before moving to a rental home. A snowstorm was headed my way so I booked 2 nights last minute from Hotwire at Pop. When I got there (same day reservation), I asked the front desk if we'd have to move and they said no.

All three times, Disney automatically continued the reservation. I always asked at the front desk though just to make sure.

You can't call the front desk. You get the call center in "who knows where". Just add "continuing reservation" with the other reservation number to each reservation. If you booked through Disney Reservation Center, call them to add the note. If you used your own DVC points, call MS. If you rented points, the owner will need to add the note to the reservation they made.

To cover your bases, ask for the continuing reservation note to be added to both reservations. Have the second reservation as a note in the first reservation and have the first reservation as a note in the second reservation. I'd also suggest stopping at the front desk during the first stay. That's three chances to get the message across.

You got some great feedback above but I would suggest you also stop by the front desk on your arrival day and confirm that they show your 2 reservations are "linked" as continuing if you called to update your reservation as suggested above.

Disney would rather not need to clean two 2-BR villas for the same group of guests in 2 days in a row. It is to everyone's advantage for you to stay in the same room but you just need confirm that they actually know that you have 2 reservations once you arrive.
