Every time that we have been to Disney, going into the park on the monorail, we have always said that we would love to do the Chef Mickey breakfast.

I know that on the first full day that we are there, i will want to get to MK as quickly as possible and won't want to stop for breakfast on the way, so i thought that we might go on our second day there.

As MK is always our first day and we won't want to go 2 days in a row, my first question is, which park would be best to go to from Chef Mickey? We will be staying off resort so really a park that would be alright for transportation to and from the contemporary.

I'm not very good with geography so i really can't remember where all of the parks are in relation to each other :confused3

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

From The Contemporary you could catch the monorail to Epcot-you have to change at the TTC. :thumbsup2

I know what you mean about visiting MK the 1st day, its a must.
How about booking Chef Mickeys later in the holiday when youre going to MK again-or are you just going 1 day?
Its just that you could walk there from the Contemporary. :goodvibes

Are you driving at all?
if not you could always just catch a bus from the contemporary to any park.

We will be driving so that kind of complicates it a little.
We probably will have a second visit to MK, but my boyfriend doesn't really want to have too many days with set plans so i wouldn't really be sure when we will go to MK again (if only he knew how much planing goes into all of these things. I some-times think he believes it just happens :rotfl2: )

Epcot would probably be a good choice actually. Thank-you

Im sure youll go to Mk again but like you said best to make sure Chef Mickeys is done, just in case you dont.

we dont usually drive, so not sure where youd park?

perhaps at the TTC, get the monorail to chef Mickeys and then monorail to Epcot. :confused3
Just saves you having to keep moving the car.

Im just waiting to make my last ADR for chef Mickeys, we stay at the Contemporary so usually go there a few times. :thumbsup2

Driving to the Contemporary would be no problem - we have done it a few times for meals.
As you approach the gates for the MK car park stay to the right hand side and just tell the person stood there that you have a breakfast reservation - then just follow the signs to the Contemporary. They have a decent sized car park, and even valet parking if you want to go straight to the door.
After that you are then free to do whatever park you want :thumbsup2

How about a Chef Mickey lunch on your first day?

So get to the park early morning, have a few hours, walk/monorail to CM for lunch and then head back to the park?

Chef Mickeys doesn't serve lunch most of the year.

They do have lunch for a couple of weeks at the end of August and September for free dining but its not usually announced until closer to the time.

Oops - you learn something new!!

How about a late breakfast sitting?

We're having Ohana breakfast at 10.30am one day, and plan to do 2 hours in MK before heading over. (Opens at 8am that day)

as an alternative, how about dinner? - you can have a welcome break from the park and return for fireworks later.

Actually Chef Mickeys opens at 7am so you could breakfast and still make rope drop - we have done that before! :goodvibes

We went from Epcot on the monorail, changed at TTC, and had dinner at Chef Mickey's on Xmas Eve... A lot of people were waiting for the MK fireworks in the Contemporary. Apparently, they pipe the music in, and it's not quite like being there, you get a great view.

Just another thought!
xx

When we did Chef Mickey's last year we hopped on the Monorail over to Epcot.

We didn't enjoy the monorail trip though, it seemed to take a very long time. And coming back to the car it was about an hour all in all, a huge waste of time IMO. I know lots of people love to ride the monorail, but we just wanted to get back to the car and it was a bit of a pain! Not enough trains running for the amount of people trying to get them :)

This may be your best bet as you could then drive over to EPCOT and have your car available when you leave rather than having to return to the MK car park.

Alternatively, if you are planning a day at one of the water parks, book Chef Mickeys on this day then you could maybe make the reservation for a little later and have a bit of a lie-in.

Think we are going to go with this idea. I think that we will defintitley want to go to a Disney park after this, and so a water park and lie in would probablt fit in perfectly.

Thanks for all of the ideas :)

We did chef mickeys at 7am on our first day and it was a great start to the trip and got DD's 'I haven't seen Mickey yet' out of the way.

We like to have a more leisurely first day - supermarket shop, pool time so it fitted well with this. Then we did MK day 2 when we had recovered a bit more from the flight and the crowd prediction was a 1 (i.e lowest).

You can park for up to 3 hours at the contemporary free if you are dining.

P.s I'd ignore BF and plan! Our first trip disney trip DH thought I was mad planning but soon realised how much sense it made. I built options in so I could say do you want to do x or y but he quickly just started asking me what we were doing tomorrow.
