Hello Disney Friends,

We have 10 day park tickets for August. Yay! However, school is going to start a week earlier than I had planned, so we are going to have to leave earlier in the day on our last day. I don't want to add nights to the beginning of our stay because the price changes due to season. We had planned to arrive on a Sunday night (that is our resort check in time). I think we will just adjust our travel time so we arrive in the morning and use the first day of the tickets before we check into the resort.

What kinds of problems might this cause????????

Will we be able to use the shuttle to the MK? (most likely not)
If we drive to the MK instead of taking the bus, can we park for free? Will there be space to park if we arrive after noon?

Will we be able to use our dining plan? (probably not)

If check in is at 4:00 PM, is it likely we can check in around 12:00? If our room isn't ready, can we go ahead and check in to get our room keys so we can get started?

I will appreciate any help you can give me on this! Thanks!

Why do you think you could not use Disney transportation to the park or not be able to use your dining plan?

As for dining, you decide how and when to use your credits.

I am not sure I understand what you asking I guess. Leaving earlier in the day will not affect you other than you having to cut the day shorter.

If there are rooms available, or the particular room you are assigned to, they will give you the key to your room. If your room is still being prepared for your arrival, they will tell you to check back after 4. :)

1. You can check in with the front desk at your resort and receive your room keys ... which are also your park tickets ... anytime on the day of your reservation. If your room is not ready, you can simply leave your luggage with bell services and they will give you a claim ticket.

2. Once you've got your key/ticket you can proceed to the parks, use Disney transportation and access your meal plan ... no problem.

3. Again, since you are checking in at your resort, you can go ahead and park there and use Disney transportation. No worries.

You can arrive earlier and check in. If your room is available they will assign your room. If there is no availability you can leave your bags at the hotel, they will hold them for you, and you can enjoy the parks for the day. At the end of the day you come back to the hotel, pick up your bags and room assignment.

You really don't need any help. Just go to your resort when you get there on Sunday and check in. 4:00 is the time your room COULD be ready. You can check in as early as 6:00 AM.

You get there, check in, get your parking pass, get everything you need for the entire trip, sign your life away to pay for it all, and then you are done. You are an official Disney guest.

The only thing you probably will not get is your room number. You probably will have to call back later in the day to get that. But you won't have to go back to the front desk for anything.

We always drive to Orlando (9 hrs) on Sat, and stay at Comfort Inn near DTD. On Sunday AM, we check into our resort around 9AM and pick up our tickets. So far, our room has always been available, and we were able to go get settled in before going to the parks. Whether your room is available or not, you can check in at any time, get your tickets, park your car, and use the buses. Your DDP is available as soon as you check in. We also leave our car at our resort on the day of check-out, and use the buses until we leave to go home (usually park closing.)
