We are flying into Orlando on Nov 27th for 15 days - should we rent a car in advance through a Canadian tour company or try to rent one when we get there? TA said something about a 10% airport surcharge for picking up at the airport - would it be better to go to our hotel & try to rent from there? We get in about 7 p.m. - family of 4. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

For what you'll pay in transport to get to the hotel, you're better off just paying the 10% or so airport surcharge. On a $200 rental, it's only $20. IF you are staying anywhere on International Drive or WDW area, the cab fare/Mears fare/car service costs will be much higher than that.

You don't need to use the tour company, you can reserve the car online. Avis, Dollar and National would be who I'd look at, they are all at the airport and most convenient. I would NOT suggest Alamao, they are pretty horrid in the Orlando area, although they were great when I was in AB last summer.
