I would like to specify some room requests in my ressie for BC but I need some advice on the best things to ask for without going overboard. We are booked through group ressies in what I assume is a standard room (we have a conference rate so I am guessing we are getting the base room). I know that not all the rooms have full balconies so I thought I should ask for that. Are the king rooms the same size as the doubles? I know some in some hotels the kings are smaller. I'd prefer a king room but not if that means cutting down on space.

Is there a better location to request for standards? Like a certain view or area of the building? Or are they all the same?

Any recommendations would be appreciated! JJ

Definitely ask for a full balcony. That should be your first request. A king room will only have one bed in it. A room with two beds will have queen beds in it. Queen beds are usually smaller than king beds. My request when I stayed at the Beach Club (and the full balcony was a huge priority for me) was "a full balcony with a great view". We got a not so bad room but the only problem was it was on the second floor towards the lobby. We had lots of excited families walking by our room in the morning to use the stairway down to the lobby. If you want quieter, ask for a room away from the lobby.

I realize queen beds are smaller, I was just wondering if the actual rooms are different sizes. I have been in hotels where the standard king room is smaller than the standard double queen just b/c the 2 queen beds take up more room. Does anyone know?

And thanks for the tip about the room location away from the lobby!

I don't know the answer to the king vs. queens rooms size. I do know there are some odd-sized rooms at the BC, including some that are missing the daybed and a few that only have double beds in them.

A full balcony was a huge priority to me. The majority of standard rooms with balconies are on the 2nd floor (or is it 3rd? Pretty sure its 2nd. If you look at pics you'll one floor has a ribbon of balconies around it). We ended up looking over the forest on the left wing (as you face the lagoon), it was lush and quiet and lovely. You could get a glimpse of BCV off to the left and see Spaceship Earth through the trees. We would love to have that location again! It was, though, a bit of a hike from the lobby, nothing like the trek we've had at AKL and WL.
