Help with bathrooms

hoping someone can help me, have just had to move a reservation due the volcantic ash cancelling uk flights ( obviously from UK) and on moving the date SSR can no longer fulfil my requirememts for a room with roll in shower for my disabled father. Instead they are offering a normal studio but with some changes to the bathroom, some are clear raised toilet seat and grab bars but they also mention a transfer bench fir the bath as my father can't step into a bath - not quite sure what one of these is what it looks likes or how it works ??
Does anyone have experience of these?

Sorry about the travel change due to the ash - it’s amazing that something like that can make travel impossible.

It is a bench that sits inside the bathtub.
You can sit on the bench from outside of the tub and then swing your legs into the tub. So the bath is taken sitting.
Some bath benches for totally into the tub. The ones called transfer benches would more often have part out of the tub and part in - like this.

Denise- you might also want to see if another resort is available with a roll in shower-I'm figuring you are booking as DVC members? If so, I'd check just to be sure as your father would be more comfortable than in a regular studio as the bathrooms are quite small.---Kathy

We used an identical one for my dad - but we made sure it was mostly in the tub - you have to get your whole body into the tub, or else you flood the place. The side without an armrest lets you sit down outside of the tub, then you can pivot/get help getting your legs in the tub.
