Hi- I'm looking for a little advice. My DH and I have been loyal Disney fans for a couple of years now, and we are so excited to be adding a new little mouse fan to our family! Our first baby, Alex (a boy) will hopefully decide to show up sometime mid September. Eager to indocrinate him into the family lifestyle, we are planning our first family trip to Disney in early December. We figure, at three months old, all he'll really be able to do is look at the lights - but at least he'll have some of the best lights in the world to look at! We're AP holders, and have stayed at the WL, YC, and AKL, but never at Christmas. Can you recommend some of the deluxes that have Christmas lights that might wow a baby? Thanks for any advice you have :)

My mother and grandmother used to go to the resorts to see the decorations and my mom used to love the Grand Floridian's decorations. I spent all my time in the parks. You may want to pick something you and your husband will enjoy because the baby isn't going to notice too much and might get overstimulated anyway. Pretty soon he will take over everything. :rotfl: Hope all goes well and good luck! ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo princess: 5 princess: 1

We visited the Wilderness Lodge this past Christmas to eat at WCC, and the decorations were beautiful. Not too overwhelming, but you just get that Christmasee feel there with all the pine and log cabin looks. They have a huge tree in the center of their lobby that goes all the way up to the ceiling. I remember saying that if we ever went during the holidays again, I'd stay there just to get the feel of a real winter Christmas. As for your baby, take him to the Osbourne Family lights at MGM, he'll definitely be wowed!

I just wanted to say congratulations on your new baby! My first nephew is due in September! I can't wait! Have fun taking him to see Mickey!

Thank you for the replies - and thank you, Daisy 77. Congratulations on your nephews upcoming birth! You know, our childbirth class teacher told us September is the most common birth month for babies - because it's nine months after the holidays. I guess we know what a pretty common Christmas gift is! Any other suggestions are welcome, but the Wilderness Lodge does sound wonderful :)

Figaro - We've been taking our son to WDW since he was a wee little one (He's 5 now, and has been about 15 times).......And I second the Osborne lights for "wowing" the baby- the lights at the resorts are sort of accents to the decorations, not really meant to "wow" anyone on their own (IMHO)- although the decorations are incredible (In other words, I don't think you should pick a resort based on the baby's enjoyment of the lights). I love WL, AKL, and GF for the Christmas decorations (I think I actually like AKL best - there is so much detail in their decorations to look at...)...............However - I think you should pick a resort based on convenience, not lights......With a baby, you might be making more trips back to the room for naps(If not for the baby, then maybe for you :) ) (Or in case you forgot something)(There is ALOT of stuff to carry around with the baby (diapers, wipes, changes of clothing, blankets, hats, bottles (or if not bottle-feeding, then a spare shirt for you, just in case :goodvibes , binkies, etc......)....with that in mind - I would go with the Poly - as it's only a boat /monorail ride to MK, plus a quick (3-min?) walk to the TTC and then you can monorail it to Epcot----or one of the Epcot resorts so you have quick and easy access to both MGM and Epcot. Just something to keep in mind.....Jill

Congrats! We took our daughter at 5 months andthe most important advice is to stay at a monorail resort!! There was nothing worse than trying to close the stroller and grab all of our baby stuff and then getting onto a bus. My DD LOVED the Winnie the Pooh ride with the lights. Good Luck.
