How about Mia? Love that name. Mia Rose

also:

Isabella
Ava
Ella

Oh boy. If you add Gabriella it is like I wrote that list. Beautiful names.

My DD's name is Nancy. It's old fashioned, but not common, like Emma or Emily or some of the other names popular right now. And her middle name is my maiden name, Charlesworth, which she loves because NO one ever can guess her middle name :teeth: !

Other names I love are Leslie, Claire and Kerry. Or how about Margaret Mary, and nickname her Mardy? Or how about Tara Marise? So many lovely, graceful names out there!

names were a hot button for us when deciding... I'm adopted and had several 'name changes' by the time I met dh (adopted 2x and married before!) and I hated my name all of my life- it never felt right to me. I was named (finally!) Annalisa... but gloried in the nickname my bestfriend gave me when I was 15- Leigh (short for Lisa) Not knowing what my birthmom named me as grew up - I of course picked my own favorite- Alexandra- Lexie or Alexa for a nickname. I wasn't allowed to have a nickname; my adoptive mom found it insulting and would hang up if a friend called the house for 'Leigh." (believe it or not 'Leigh is my birthmom's middle name!)

When we had our first we easily agreed on a girl's name.. my confirmation name, Nicole (Nicholas for a boy) but SIL was also pregnant and had her sono 2 months before me-and came home with the name Nicole Gabrielle. Dh didn't want his daughter called Alex so we had :
Ashleigh
Chelsea
Amber
Marissa
Kristin
Alexandra (I was still pushing it)

My dd#1 was born at 36 weeks and when dh brought her to me in recovery (csection) she had bright blue eyes and was way too tiny for Alexandra. I saw her eyes and it reminded me of seeing the Gaelic meaning for Marissa- 'jewel of the sea' . She was instantly Marissa Nicole. I sometimes call her Missy- but she really loves her name and wants Marissa...

My dd#2 was another surprise- she was so active inutero that we didn't get a good picture during my frequent sonos until I was 8 months- I felt that this was my Lexie and probably called her that w/o realizing it. But we went back and forth from Kristin and Alexandra. When she was born the nurses asked what her name was.. we said both names and the nurse asked this newborn if she wanted Alexandra- she raised her arm! and screamed at Kristen. So this headstrong little girl easily grew into the strength of my favorite name. I still call her Lexie (and will until she really decides what she wants her nickname to be) but she likes Alexandra in school. She's now 5 and every bit as strong as the name implies! :earboy2:

Be sure to practice yelling whatever name you choose. Nothing worse than trying to be firm with your child and the name doesn't roll off your tongue.

Oh my goodness!!!!!Such awesome advice!!!!

Congratulations!

I didn't read the whole thread, so please forgive if I repeat.

I have 2 girls.. Krystal and Morgan

Morgan is very popular right now, even though believe it or not I had only heard it from Morgan Fairchild & Freeman.

I loved the name Abigail when I was pregnant with Morgan (2yo). But my teenagers swore she would be called gabby Abby. So if you want to know what nick name could be attatched to her....ask a teenager.

I also loved Jessica. It was 1 of the top 5 that year.

My daughters name is "Sarah Kate". She's now 24 years old. :cool1: She's named after one of the DuPont family heirs. :earseek:

I have 3 daughters:

Paige Elizabeth
Abigail Lynn
Emily Grace

Congratulations!

Okay rcpae- this is weird. I have 3 daughters and we just took our first trip to WDW in September '05 and stayed at POR! Great minds...

My girls' names are:
Keaton Nicole
Sydney Paige
Parker Brooke

We like last names as first names and apparently more "boyish" names although I like them all better for girls... :0) I love trendy, unique names but I could have called all of my girls by their middle names as well- love them.

I've got no kids but a friend and I came up with this name when his brother's wife was having a baby. It's from two tv shows we both love and well, the Disney connection is that they're both on ABC which is, of course, owned by Disney. :rotfl2:

Sidney Claire

(and if you can figure out which shows...you get top marks!)

Congrats on the little princess in your future!

I have a Sydney too! (I was pregnant during the 2000 olympics...) I get that that one is from Alias but I'm racking my brain trying to figure out what show has a Claire in it...

CONGRATES! A Future upcoming Princess is an awesome experience!

We chose a unisexed first name for our youngest. Parker Olivia and for the most part we call her Ollie or Libby.

We also have some very unique princess names within our family...

Somer
Addyson
Jaelyne
Wren
Jensyn
Annison

Best wishes in choosing the perfect name!

Our youngest daughter is named Parker!! But we call her Parker or Parks sometimes. Most people love it, some say "that's a boy's name" to which I disagree. I also have a 6 year old niece named Sommer with an O. Weird, huh?

When my DD was born we had the name Catherine chosen.

Then, we looked at this tiny infant (she was just shy of 5 pounds) and decided Catherine was too big a name for her.

We named her Nina Catherine instead and are so glad we did. She is still petite and fine featured.

Her name fits her quite well.

OK I'll chime in too. I guess I adore girls names so much because I was supposed to name our second child (that never came)..... DH fell in Love with the name Ashley (so in a effort to change his mind I changed the spelling to Ashleigh) ...

So we have Ashleigh Marie which I wanted to be Julianne.

Other names I love are.....

Sydney
Brynn
Aubrey
Savannah

Haven't read the whole thread, but I did see that your boy pick was Harlen.... I happen to know a baby girl named Harlan Rose....great name for a girl or boy.

My girls are Ayden Elizabeth and Alethia Morgan. For my son I had Olivia picked out as a name, but as it had become so popular by the time I was pregnant with my third (my second was Ayden Elizabeth almost from conception....its just always been her name, even before I had time to consider names...) I didn't feel comfortable using it any longer. When I thought of Alethia it was just like "That's it!"

Definitely keep looking until you find that name that you just know belongs to your baby!

We named her Nina Catherine instead...

Great name!! We have a Nina, too, and it's so rare to run into another one! I love the name Nina and I love that it's so unique, although my dd is starting to get a little bummed that she can never find her name on personalized merchandise. :rotfl:

My other dd is Chloe, another name I've loved for years.

Other girls names I like are:

Ella
Charlotte
Daphne
Phoebe
Eleanor
Rose
Joy
Anna

Good luck to the OP!

Edited to add Adele, Claire and Amelia to the names I love list. Forgot about those until I read them in this thread.

congrats on your little girl!

I have always liked Jordyn Avery princess:

I have a Devon Nicole she's 11 now! When I saw the name I loved it! And very few had the name! Now I hear it quite often! But I also get isn't that a boys name? It can be either orbut all the boys I've seen with the name were spelled DEVIN . I wanted to spell hers DEVYN! I thought it looked more feminine but I didn't!

Our little princess is Chandler Marie. I knew I didn't want a common name, and I didn't want her to be one of 3 or 4 kids in her class with the same name. At first I got a lot of "that's a boy's name" comments, but it fits her 100% and she's all girl!

We too are expecting... (A girl in February)... Hubby and I decided on Sierra Camille (Camille is after my grandmother) but Sierra was for that ever popular reason... We wanted a unique name that was not to outlandish, but did allow her to be herself, not one of 4 in her class. Now, if for some reason the ultrasound was hiding something and my little princess: turns out to be a pirate: then we will name him Wade Patrick.

Thanks also for the ticker, that is really cool, hope you don't mind that I added it to mine :)

Are you positive you are having a girl? My daughter was told that she also was having a girl, so we picked out a girl's name, went out and bought all of this really frilly pink baby stuff, you get the picture? Anyway imagine our surprise when our little Abagail turned into a Joey! Yes she had another boy and it was kind of a shock but we sure got over it fast! Her poor husband was over in Iraq at the time so it was a shock for him to be told he had another son instead of a daughter, but all is well...our baby Joey is such a beautiful little boy that we all feel truely blessed! And yes we took back all the frilly stuff for boy stuff..oh well maybe next time I will be blessed with a grandaughter!

I hear you on only boys names.......Husbands family all boys, he is one of six boys ( my poor MIL), all of his brothers only have boys, even my BIL who married a women who already had kids..yup boys. Our first two children, boys, Spencer and Ethan. Went for baby # 3, had to have many ultra sounds, decided to find out what sex the baby was...they said,"GIRL" I almost fell off the table ! No one believed that I was having a girl. My husband wanted to know who the father was ( yes, he was just kidding!). Now we had one girls named picked out, through the last 2 x's, Mackenzie. This time I couldn't use it, tough cookie in my class named Mackenzie, spoiled that. The big day arrived, February 14, 2003 - the last of our children was born, and yes, the baby was a girl! NO ONE could believe it!!!She was nameless for 2 days.My husband and boys really liked the name ,Norah, but I just wasn't sure. Ever time I'd go down to the nursery to pick her up the nurses on duty would say," Your husband really likes the name Norah, and then give their 2 cents on how they liked that name, it was an old name, strong name when she is an adult etc...They won, her name is Norah Elizabeth. She is a wild one, but I think we'll keep her ;) ! Good luck , best wishes for a happy and healthy baby girl!
