Help with baby girl names

Also living in Maryland, I have two kids. My oldest is a girl. DH only gave me two names to choose from and I chose Caitlin...her middle name is Grace (after my grandmother). Caitlin Grace also means "Pure Grace".

Since you are posting here, my other question would be are you interested in a Disney name? Some are quite nice...Aurora, Nala, Anastasia, Jasmine, etc..

By the way...congratulations! :cheer2:

We liked Anna Grace, but it was so common when DD (22mos) was born. We named her Karis (from the Greek "charis" meaning Grace) Anne - together it means "full or grace and beloved by God." So far we haven't encountered another Karis her age and she is certainly one of a kind!

Congratulations! You are going to love having a princess!

Congrats.

My DD's name is Catherine Elizabeth and we call her Catherine.

I also loved the name Courtney.

We have Caitlin Nicole and Brady Danielle. I also liked Jillian Paige. I really like the name Catherine...if I wasn't worried about people calling her Cathy...I would have used it.

Our DD is Erin Kathleen. If DS had been a girl, he would have been Caroline, Kate, or Katie.

Crisi-I love that website. I think it is so funny but my kind of humor

I am having a boy in December but thought for sure it would be a girl. I was going to name her Zoe but it seems like it is becoming too popular. I also like Olivia.

I have a Kailyn Elizabeth and a Shannon Grace. If my ds had been a girl he would have been Ryan Kathleen or Delaney Kathleen(Delaney is my maiden name) Good luck picking a name and congrats on your little girl!!!

Our DD is Aurora Noel...
She was almost Aurora Nicole. She was due on my birthday and I wanted us both to have the same middle name. But she chose her own day. 12/21/04

We found that name by liking the Character Rory from the Gilmore girls. So we felt it needed more than just Rory. So one day it came to me.. Aurora.. We call her Rory for short. It also is easy for our DS 4 to write. Our last name is German, but I didn't want to follow that route and we have a cousin who has taken all the family names...

As in the Aurora Boreallis
Aurora, Colorado, A favorite vacation spot
the Oldsmobile, Aurora. My Dh is a car guy that everyone says is hung up on the oldsmobile and no longer making the line.
The after the Disney Princess. As I din't think I could get away with calling her Tink. My favorite character..

Other names that we had though of..
After the 2 gradmonthers Kathryn Constance and calling her K. C. (Kasey)
Daria-
Emily Morgan ( Emily is the #1 name though so we didn't pick that one)

Make it a name that you like and don't tell anyone the name so they can't give you their opinion. We also did not tell anyone and one of my husbans co-wokers named their daughter Aurora also. o'well..

We had to change the name we had chose for our son. As a cousin was born a few weeks earlier and was given the name we had chose. I mean the exact same name. last name also. they will be in school together in the same grade. So we had to change it.. But his name fits him..

Good Luck!

Yeah! Congratulations on your princess!! :cloud9: I have an Olivia Lauren(6yrs old) and a Gabriella Grace(Gabby 15mos) They fit their names very well. I also have a Jackson Taylor, and if Gabby would have been another boy she would have been Reece Matthew. Have fun!!

My little princess is Gillian Rose. We have only met 1 other Gillian so far with the G spelling. But we do have a little girl on are street with Jillian with a J.

If you're going after "Disney" names. I think of two women in Disney history that I would consider "ROYALTY".

Both happen to be names of women in my family. I married a Julie and we named our first born Hayley.

(Julie - Julie Andrews)
(Hayley - Hayley Mills)

Both are great names...although it's tough to find anything with "Hayley" spelled with two "y's".

Congratulations!

I thought it would be another boy after the first two. I had stopped at the a's in the baby name book so we have an Ainsley Isabella. She is known as Ainsley Bell. Little sister to Nicholas and Austin. Good luck.

My daughter is Riley Adele
Riley is my husband's mother's maiden name
and Adele is my mother's first name

Good luck, little girls are fun!

Congratulations!

DD1 is Emmaline Camille. Four months after she was born, Rachel on "Friends" named her baby Emma, and .... DD had a swim class year and she was one of FOUR Emmas. At least the "line" at the end makes it a little unique.

DD2 is Eleanor Clare. I really liked Ella (yes, because of Cinderella!) but it seems to be gaining in popularity. Eleanor isn't very common here and I can still call her Ella for a nickname.

Have fun choosing and enjoy your little bundle of pink!

:) Michele

Thank you for all the input and the congrats. Heres what I've been thinking and tell me what you think. First off definatly Danielle for a middle name. First names: Gabrielle, Jenna, Madison, Amber. I also played around (a lot) with the name Maggie, I absolutly love that name but I cant really think of a suitable middle name because I keep thinking Danielle is too modern to go with an old fashioned name like Maggie. I am tickled silly with the the thoughts of a little girl but Im going crazy with the naming. LOL My boy name was Harlen (loved it).

Our princess is Kaitlyn Rose. I read a book when I was like 12 (I'm 34 now) and the character's name was Caitlin (different spelling.) I loved the name then (No ONE used it back then) but by the time I had my daughter at 30 is was very popular; I picked it anyway, since it had been a name I had chosen so many years ago. I also love Heather but my husband didn't like it. (Rose was my grandmother's middle name, and the name of the character in my favorite movie, Titanic.)

My daughter's names are Taytem Ann and Payton Marie. If we have a 3rd it will be Reagan. Not sure yet of a middle name. I really like Courtney and Adison, too.

Nailah nile-ah - Egyptian ('successful')
Sari sah-ree - Hebrew ('princess')
Caitlyn kay-t-lin - Celtic/Irish ('pure beauty')
Arwen think Liv Tyler in LOTR - Are-when - Celtic/Welsh ('muse')
Celeste seh-lest - Latin ('from the heavens')
Faith fay-th - Latin ('to trust')
Kasia kah-sha - Polish (from Katherine (Greek) 'pure, virginal')
Kaya not sure about this one, but I'm thinking ka-yah? - Native American ('wise child')
Lacy lay-see - French (from the name Larissa (Greek) 'cheerful')

Remember, you can always change the spelling of a name you like, too.

My name actually translates as 'Victorious Princess and Bringer of Light, Born to Nobility'! :rotfl:

Based on your choices I would recommend

Margaret Danielle and you could call her Maggie
