Wondering about having a go at DIY for Florida 2011 to see how it compares with Virgin Holidays but would like to get an indication of likely prices for both indirect or direct.
If we go it is likely to be around the same time as this year eg 23 June - 15 July.
Troops will be 13, 11 and 9 so I think this makes us 3 adults and 2 child for flights.
Any thoughts appreciated :goodvibes

Haven't a clue where you fly from Reid, you wanting price from London or Glasgow?

BA have some reasonable prices but you can't book for another 2 days(3 days for Glasgow)
2 examples I just looked at using latest dates available (BA you can book before VA)

23rd June ~ 13th July Gatwick~MCO Total £2,315.00

23rd June ~ 12th July Glasgow~MCO(change Gatwick outbound, Heathrow return) Total £2,658.00

23rd June ~ 15th July Flydrive with Virgin from Gatwick £2801.75 (Car insurance extra)

Not really a time of year I follow prices of, I would expect around £400-450 indirect from London, not sure from Glasgow, again I don't follow prices for Glasgow, My searches are always London and Manchester.

Thanks Wayne.

We have only ever flown from Gatwick to MCO, with an internal flight Aberdeen to Gatwick.
So the prices from London are helpful.

Trying to compare DIY versus Virgin with 20% off :goodvibes

Reid have you looked into martinair? I have relatives flying from Aberdeen via Amsterdam this year, and there have been some great offers?

We paid £347 each from Glasgow this year in May. That was GLA-EWR-MCO, if I remember rightly I think Continental also do this from Aberdeen? Could be wrong though!

And saying that, same dates next year with Continental are currently nearly double that :(

I have noticed that about Continental from Belfast next year - currently £750 for June :scared1:

Here's hoping something changes.

I also did a May'11 quote with Continental and fares came up at around £600+ as the cheapest. I looked in June when the fares were just released. Maybe they will have a sale later on ;) KLM came in as the cheapest GLA-AMS AMS-MCO (longhaul with Martinair) but the price was nominally less. Looks like the price challenge with airfares is not over yet! :sad2:
