My family is booked for this coming July. We are at disney for 8 nights. We have the QSDP but are looking at booking 1 or 2 TS meals during our stay. My 180 day mark is coming up. We are going to book a dinner buffet at chef mickeys the day we arrive. None of the 3 kids have ever had a character meal so we thought it would be a great way to start our vacation.

We have been thinking of possibly booking 1 more ADR. We are at a loss as to what to book though. What is another not miss place that the kids would love? We have been think possibly a breakfast??

Thanks guys for your expert opinions:thumbsup2

I always loved the breakfast buffet at the Crystal Palace @ MK. The price is decent for a Disney meal and the Pooh characters are great. I've always tried to get the latest breakfast reservation (about 10:30am) that way I can knock off some rides ride first. Others will also tell you to try to get the first reservation of the day (about 8:05am)- as it is quite magical to see MK with hardly any one in it.

Hope this helps
Karen

My daughter enjoys Donald's Safari Breakfast at Animal Kingdom (it is the only character meal that Daisy is a "regular" at) and Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast with Lilo & Stitch...

Another one of her favorites is dinner with Chip 'n' Dale at The Garden Grill in EPCOT...

Have fun!

My pick would be either CP or Tusker House breakfast (ends about 10:30am).

Tusker House has almost the same characters as CM-no Pluto, you see Daisy. The food their is really good and has some different items. Breakfast ends earlier here than at most of the other places.

Crystal Palace is fun and has Winnie the Pooh characters.

If your kids get up early, booking the before the park opens time slot is great as you can get photos in front of the castle (CP) or in front of the tree of life (TH). Make sure you book on a day that isn't an EMH in the am.

If getting up early isn't for you/or you don't care about photos, then book the latest time possible. Then hopefully you can get a few rides in before your ADR.

We're just back from out first trip. Kids absolutely loved Chef Mickeys, so much so that we did it twice! DW & I also enjoyed it. So I'd definitely stick with that. We also did the Lilo & Stitch breakfast in O'Hanas in the Poly which we all loved. Food was great and Stitch was so funny! Recommend this. My two are 6 & 8.

I have done Chef Mickeys, Crystal Palace and Cinderella's Royal Table. Besides CRT the others were the same, so it really depends on which characters the children like. I did CP early and got in before the park opened, and that was nice. I also did one of the latest at CM and used it like lunch. I liked them all, so good luck with your choice!

If you have young kids Hollywood and vine is fabulous for them. I love the food there too. It is Little einsteins and Jo jo curcus, and it plays kid music.

If you have girls
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Norway is great as they have 4 princesses walking around and one at the door greeting you and having a photo with them (which are included in the price)

Finally if you love Tigger and pooh

Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom is great.

I don't think it is Little Einsteins anymore. I believe it is Special Agent Oso :)

Best Breakfasts at WDW (IMHO)
Character Breakfasts
Grand Floridian-1900 Park Fare - Character Breakfast
Contemporary - Chef Mickey's
Magic Kingdom - Crystal Palace
HS - Hollywood Vine & Dine
Epcot - Storybook Princess Breakfast in Norway.

Non- Character Breakfast:
Wilderness Lodge: Whispering Canyon Cafe
Animal Kingdom Lodge: Boma

The last time we were at WDW... we had breakfast at the Poly with Lilo and Stitch. Found the characters and service great... but the food was awful. Bland, greasy, and cold. Have never had this problem for dinner there so I was quite disappointed and we will NEVER do breakfast there again.

I have been disappointed with the breakfast at the Poly with Lilo and Stitch also. The first time I was with my lactose intollerant niece and the server decided I wasn't getting any of the pastries/bread items. I was left with sausage, egg and bacon as my meal along with the fruit. I had to ask her to please bring me something as I don't eat egg or sausage.

The last time I ate there the server forgot to give us the fruit plate. I only noticed when they did the parade around the room and saw all the other tables had fruit. When I asked why we didn't get it, she made it sound like it was my job to request it. I will not go back again for breakfast.

oh my kids will be so excited.
but according to Disney's Web site it is june (little einsteins) Leo and Handy Manny.

I will let you know who is there when I get back.

I would say the best meals were
Ohana breakfast
1900 park fare dinner
Tuscker house breakfast
Crystal Palace breakfast before park opening.
that's where we got the best caracter interaction and the best food.

We did Hollywood and Vine and Little einstein were there (Leo and June) as were Handy Manny and Oso. The girls loved it as they got up to dance soo many times. I foudn it annoying as they weren't eating. The food wasn't the best but wasn't the worse either.

This may be an off the wall suggestion but we were at Epcot over the Christmas holidays and dined at Teppan Edo for a nice relaxing dinner. The chefs put on quite a show for the children and the food is excellent. Something different than a character meal.

Dissenting voice here--breakfast at Ohana is our favourite. We have quite enjoyed the food. (I can hear my son saying "baaaaacon..." ;-) Love the fresh pineapple, and all the b'fast regulars like Mickey waffles, but without having to get it for ourselves. We have gone first thing in the morning, but have also booked it as brunch, getting some quality morning time at MK then hopping the monorail for a break in the cool, lovely Poly. Characters are excellent. We first went when ds was 5 and dd 2, and have been back up to & including the kids being 9 and 7.

That said, I'd also recommend Crystal Palace for breakfast if your kids are little enough to enjoy the Pooh characters. I love the setting, especially with the Florida sunshine coming through all those windows. Have also enjoyed Chip and Dale at dinner at the Garden Grill in Epcot--the food was good and the kids were strangely fascinated by the revolving restaurant!

Have fun. :-)
