I am planning a last minute trip to DL and I am wondering which airports i shoul be checking into. We will be flying from the east coast (CT) and I am not sure which airports are conveniently located to DL. I know there are several. Thanks in advance for the help!

in order...
Orange County (SNA)
Long Beach (LGB)
Ontario (ONT)
Burbank (BUR)
Los Angeles (LAX)

While John Wayne airport in Orange County is the closest it is always much more expensive for us to fly into than Ontario, L.A, Burbank or even San Diego.

The closest airport is SNA (Orange County) and I would choose either that or LAX. Many people are intimidated by LAX but it is NOT a bad airport and you will often get the best deals flying in there. It is the major airport here.

Ontario is over an hour away, Burbank is a small regional airport in the San Fernando Valley (also far) and Long Beach is also a small regional airport with very limited service. Long Beach would be a fine choice too but it's almost impossible to find decent fares, especially from CT.

Check fares for SNA or LAX and go with whichever of the two is the best. :)

Ontario Airport was GREAT it is small and newly remodeled!! So getting thru the airport to get the luggage was easy. You will want to rent a car from one of the 2 onsite companies or it gets complicated,by having to take 2 buses to get off site cars. It is a short fast Freeway drive[took us about 45 minutes] to DL and there are at least 3 exits to DL.

I would Definiately choose Ontario Airport again. Especially over LAX.

I too would prefer Ontario or Burbank to LAX. I'm not intimidated by LAX in the least, Ontario and Burbank are just more laid back.

I always fly out of ontario--my favorite by far. It is easy, convenient and friendly. You can't go wrong with Ontario!

One drawback from Ontario is the $10 fee the airport tacks on to car rentals. It only applies for arriving passengers, so you can arrive in any other airport and leave Ontario (provided you rent from an agency that doesn't charge a drop-off, like Budget).

I don't know where in CT you are but if JFK is the closest airport to you, you might want to check out Jet Blue which flys from JFK to Long Beach. Nice small airport and one of the two closes to Disneyland.

Depending on the airline you are flying your might have fewer options on the smaller airports. I would recommend Orange County over Ontario and LAX.

Orange County (AKA: Santa Ana or John Wayne) is 13.0 miles to Disneyland and traffic is fairly decent. Rental cars are also on sight. Ontario is 45 minutes on a good traffic day and can be 2 hours on a terrible day. LAX is well, LAX. You will definately be in traffic from LAX to Disneyland. Rental Cars are also off site.

Good luck with your decision.
