I keep going back and forth on a couple ADRs. We have free dining, and have 5 table service meals to figure out. I'm using all my dining credits for table service dinners. We are also all adults (me, my husband, my sister-in-law, and my mother/father-in-laws.)

These are the restaurants I'm considering now:

Be Our Guest
The Wave
Whispering Canyon Cafe
'Ohana/Boma
Teppan Edo

The only ones I've 100% decided on are Be Our Guest, The Wave, and Teppan Edo. We really enjoyed Whispering Canyon Cafe the last time we went 2 years ago for dinner (we love BBQ). But we also love Italian - and was thinking about trying Tutto Italia again. We went 2 years ago, but it didn't impress me - thought we should try it again since I've read positive reviews about it recently.

I have always thoroughly enjoyed 'Ohana, but I've read some negative reviews lately. I have always, also, had to wait past my ADR, and right now, I have an 8:05pm ADR, which I think is already a bit late, and if we have to wait even longer.....

My father-in-law is pretty picky from a food standpoint, but I think there would be options for him at Boma...I've been before, and I felt that there was a good variety of African and American foods.

Soooo my question - thoughts on these selections? Opinions on Boma vs 'Ohana and on Whispering Canyon vs Tutto Italia? Is there another BBQ place that might be a better option for WCC instead?

Thanks!!

Note: I KNOW restaurants and food are very subjective... so really need some confirmation/help on my ADRs just to confirm I'm making the right decisions!! :)

I would skip 'Ohana. I was not pleased with the last meal we had there, but would not tell people to stay away for that reason. This restaurant runs behind, and a 8:05 might be much later than that. Unless you are okay with dining late, I would not go.

I liked Boma, and would suggest this one just to go to AKL. You could also think about Sanaa, which is superb.

I am not fond of WCC, and if I was choosing a resort restaurant I would go anywhere else. Does it have to be BBQ?

For your Italian meal, I would go to Mama Melrose, book the Fantasmic Dining Package and use my credit to the max. MM gets mixed reviews but my family has always enjoyed our meals. The only thing about teh package I am not thrilled with is the dessert trio. But then we book it for lunch, eat the parts of the dessert we like, and then later in the evening get something else to enjoy during the show.

My family LOVES Ohana. We eat there every year. We ate breakfast at whispering canyon this year and really enjoyed the breakfast. We have ate there for dinner and also really enjoyed it. I liked Boma but it wasn't my favorite. The food is different there. Teppan Edo is not my favorite either. We ate there last year and to be honest I liked our hibachi restaurant at home better. We really like Be our guest. I have eaten there twice and this year they seated us in the west wing and it was really neat.

I was thinking about doing an Italian place instead of WCC, but couldn't decide :)

I'm really excited about BOG for dinner. I've eaten there for lunch and it was really good.

We loved the food at BOG. Their ratatouille is one of my favorite dishes at Disney. The shrimp and scallop dish is also superb.

Boma and Ohana are both very enjoyable. We preferred Ohana. We liked the relaxation of being served as opposed to the buffet lines. Both have excellent food.

We also loved Sanaa. Lovely place.

Do you need to stay in resorts, or can you book dinner in a park? We liked Via Napoli, and now we eat there every trip.

I liked BOG lunch, and thought that dinner was okay. I am tying to book it because I tink if possibel it is nove to have dinner there at least once, and my DDIl has only been for breakfast. You will enjoy the experience, it is dfferent than lunch.

We have park hoppers, so can definitely book at the parks. I love seeing the other resorts, so that's why I've booked some there.

With Via Napoli, I thought about it but read it isn't a great restaurant for the dining plan. There aren't any reservations available anyway.

It depends on what you are ordering. My family ordered pizza to share, but we also ordered meals and those were really good. WE paid for the pizza OOP but used the DDP for the meals

I'd suggest Boma over Ohana. I think your father in law would get more choices and options with a buffet, especially if he's a picky eater.

If your looking for Italian food, I'd try Mama Melrose, especially if you've never been there. We always like to try new places. Mama Molrose had more food choices that we like as opposed to Tutto Italia (granted, that's subjective and every persons tastes are different). We also thought the food had more taste their.

There's not a whole lot of BBQ choices in Disney. If you wanted to do another buffet, your could try Trail's End at Fort Wilderness. We have never been disappointed with their food. It has fried chicken, bbq ribs, pasta, pizza, shrimp, etc.
