Ok I have made my ADR's and am hoping that they are OK. Keep in mind that this will be our first time ever going and I had NO clue what I was doing.

We are staying at the AKL from 8/11-8/18 we are on the dinning plan from 8/11-8/16 It is going to be me, DH, DSIL(17) DD(4) and DS(1) For the most part we are picky eaters which is why we are doing alot of buffets.
So let me know your thoughts...thanks

8/11- We arive at 2:50. Get a CS at AKL and just explore the lodge.

8/12-Chef mickey @7:25 then off to AK

8/13-Doing MK and dinner at 1900 park fare @4:55

8/14-Doing MK again- breakfast at crystal palace @ 8:05

8/15-This day is tricky.. we plan on doing epcot, I will leave the DH, DSIL, and DS there and take DD to BBB at the castle(thought it would be more magical) @9:30am for her make-over, then back to epcot and dinner at princess story book norway @ 6:15

8/16-Ohana breakfast @ 7:55 then doing MK again

8/17-dont know what park yet

8/18 dont know what park yet

One of my all time favorites now is Boma and it is right there in the AKL. But it doesn't have the fun factor for the kids that the other restaurants you have booked have. Sci Fi in Hollywood Studios would be fun for the 17 year old.

If you want to do more Character dining, there is Garden Grill in Epcot and Hollywood and Vine in the Hollywood Studios. I have not tried either....yet.

I was going to book Boma for the first night but we are very picky and the CS rep said that if we are picky eaters Boma wouldnt be a good place. Should I still book it?

I would not book it if you and your family are not big on trying new foods. My DBF and I loved it when we were there in April, but we are not afraid to try things. There is a "kid's station" with mac & cheese and chicken fingers, etc. for a worst case scenario if you did want to try Boma. Many people have complained that there is a particular spice in a lot of the dishes that they don't care for. Bottom line, I wouldn't recommend it for you.

If you need another dinner ADR, you might want to consider Liberty Tree Tavern in MK. They have good food (ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, etc.) and it is served to you family style. The characters are Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip & Dale dressed in colonial attire. We always have enjoyed our meals at LTT and look forward to going again this year.

I will look into that.

I am trying not to loose money doing the DDP. Is anyone good at doing the math to see if it is worth it?

It is definitely worth it, IMHO. I kept receipts from our trip last year and we saved a LOT by doing the dining plan. For example, our Chef Mickey's receipt for 4 people (2 adults 2 children) was $86. Even the counter service meals would run between $30 to $40. I think your itinerary so far sounds good! :thumbsup2
