help with a few ?s about driving down

A great place to stay on the way down would be the Courtyard by Marriott on Lenoir Ave. in Jacksonville. It's right off of I-95 with easy on/easy off. It's a very safe area and there is a Cracker Barrel right next door. It would be a long drive for you to get there (i'm guessing 12 hours) but you will only have 2.5 hours left to WDW.

As for South of the Border, don't bother. It's run down and a risky place to stop.

We come from Michigan - driving with a trailer takes us about 24 hours - without we're down to just under 20. Stop is usually Lookout Mountain, GA though that does still leave about 7-8 hours until WDW the next day.

BUT what I wanted to say was this whole South of the Border thing is so entertaining! :rotfl: Sort of in the way you can't help but watch an accident when you drive by.:surfweb: Just last night I was reading someone's trip report and she had included photos from her last stop - and I believe SOB (isn't that ironic? ) has a website which also just makes me laugh now....

Someday I'll drive by the giant red dachsund and think of this board! :yay:
