Last night I went to a church program and they served christmas cookies afterwards. They had this little round cookie that some had green some red filling and the tops were white. They were about the size of a quarter. I know I have seen them before and thought it was in either taste of home or quick cooking but I can't find it and been though all the magazine a couple times. If you have this recipe could you please post it for me!!!!
Thanks!
Jodi

More info??
Cut out or a drop type?
What was the red filling......jam, colored frosting?
I get a lot of recipes from those magazines, but don't know where to start looking.

Well I have a recipe for something called "Melting Moments". They are made with butter, cornstarch, powdered sugar. Then you put a thumb print in the middle and once they are cooked, you put a little dab of icing (colored or sprinkled) in the middle.

Also have a recipe for a jelly cookie where you use red and green jelly in the centers.

Perhaps if you try to describe the taste?

The tops and bottoms were kind of flakey like a pastry but sweet and the middle was more like a frosting. they were cut out.
The melting moments sounds yummy! Could you post that recipe!!
Thanks!!

Here you go:

Melting Moments

1/2 lb. butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
3/4 cup cornstarch
1 cup flour

Mix sugar, flour, cornstarch and cut in butter. Form small balls (about the size of a large marble) and place on cookie sheet. Press slightly with thumb in middle. Bake at 350 for 12-20 min. (they should just start to brown on the edges)

Frosting:

1 cup powdered sugar
dash vanilla
add milk to make it spreadable

Put a small dab of frosting in the middle of each cookie. Sprinkle with red or green sugar (decorating). (You can also color the frosting red or green if you wish. I just do the sugar 'cause it's quicker.

They literally melt in your mouth! :D
