Help with a booking question

Thinking about an April 2007 trip. Our use year is December and currently we have no points left this year. If I booked in May for an April 2007 trip, I realize I could use the 200 points we'll receive this December to book it, but no doubt it will be over 200 points. Could I borrow from the next year in May or would I have to wait until this December to get access to the next year's allotment?

To make sure I understand, let me summarize:

You have no points left in your 2005 use year (12/1/2005 - 11/30/2006).

You want to book a trip for April, 2007. That falls within your 2006 use year (12/1/2006 - 11/30/2007).

You don't have enough current use year points to book the April 2007 trip (Again, current use year for that trip is 2006).

Yes, you may borrow points from the next use year for that trip. You are allowed to borrow one use year ahead. The next use year is 2007 (12/1/2007- 11/30/2008).

You can make the reservation in May, 2006 which will be 11 months prior to check out, assuming the reservation is for your home resort. Yes, you will be able to borrow the points you need when you call for the reservation in May. No need to wait until December to call to make the reservation.

Carol gave a nice clear discription of your options. I just wanted to add, that it sounds like you might be in need of an add-on. Your scenario is what prompted us to do an add-on after just one year.

Thanks for the replies, that was what I needed to know. Still not sure if we'll take the April trip, we were really planning to go August 2007 but I'm not sure I can wait that long, lol!

Diane, we would looove to add-on. We got an email recently from Disney that said they had add on contracts for sale for VWL (our home resort) with our use year. We were so tempted. But unfortunately we need a new minivan so our practicality won out.
Oh well, maybe someday!!
