We are going on vacation to Orlando on September 22nd, arriving at 11:06pm and leaving back to home on October 5th with flight leaving at 7am.
I am trying to find a good deal on car rental for this time period and have not had sucess, because most deals, codes, specials are for 1 week.

I would appreciate anyone's input on getting a good deal for a car rental for a two week rental.

THANKS:bounce:

as there are many variables. What size car do you need? Are you a Disney Club member? Any other affiliations (Costco, Sam's, Capital One credit cards, etc.)? Have any coupons? What do you consider a good rate?

Just for fun, I priced out your dates for a National mid-size, with a Disney Club discount, and the Buena Vista coupon (link available at www.Mousesavers.com). The total after all discounts, taxes and fees was $249. If, in addition, you happen to be an Emerald Club member, you could go up to full-size and EA service for the same price.

Seemed like a good deal to me!!

Thank you for your reply. I do have a Costco card, an Entertainment card, Alaska Mileage Membership (This is how we are going to Florida. I earned enough mileage to get airline tickets for all 3 of us), and a AAA Card.

The lowest price I could find so far was with Alaska Mileage for a compact car with Hertz-$249.02.

I tried to do the Emerald Club member thing, but when I clicked on the web site, it said, "Not taking new enrollments at this time"

I saw postings about people getting their cars, a compact size for $84-$89 a week, thru http://www.travelcouponsonline.com/best.html would make the rental for two weeks--$168-178.00, if I could somehow figure out how to do that for a compact, that would be great!

When I tried to do the two week rental, I kept coming up higher prices than those good weekly deals or it would say nothing available for you dates. I figured I must be goofing something up and thought I would holler for help.

I come up with a rate of $237.89 (all fees and taxes included) for your 2 week rental at www.hertz.com using codes/coupons from http://www.travelcouponsonline.com/best.html - I used the Northwest Airlines Frequent Flyer code available to NW air frequent fliers...I believe Alaska Air gives the same discount (30%) plus a $15 off coupon available free online.

Please keep in mind that sample rates posted on that website and mentioned online are 'before taxes and fees' which can add quite a bit to the final total.

If you do not care what rental company you use, you could try priceline or hotwire.
http://www.priceline.com
http://www.hotwire.com
Hotwire has a code good for a discount off your final price available at http://www.travelcouponsonline.com/car.html

If you bid on Priceline, I would suggest checking www.biddingfortravel.com first to see what kind of bids have won. Remember taxes and fees are added to Priceline bids, so bid low enough that you will still realize a savings.

Thank you for your reply and info. I will try it again on that web site and see if I can get it to work. I will also check out Northwest's deal.

Saw you are from North Dakota. My mother grew up in a little town near the International Peace Gardens.
