I'm working on putting together a special basket for my guy during our super last minute trip in October. I want a bottle of wine or champagne to accompany the etched Mickey glasses. However, I'm not a big wine drinker. I like sweet drinks, so I have no idea what to get or order. Can someone help this novice?

Thanks,
Melanie

etched Mickey glasses?
oh please tell me more
is this a birthday present i need to buy myself?

If you like a sweet and bubbly celebratory wine, I'd suggest Banfi Rosa Regale. It is often promoted at the Italian Pavilion in Epcot, as well as at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival.

It is effervescent, pleasingly sweet, red in color and tastes kind of like fresh raspberries, at least to me.

Enjoy!

If you like sweet wine, I would go with a bottle of Banfi Rosa Regale (sparkling and pink) or an Ice Wine.

If you are purchasing at WDW, Iron Horse Fairy Tale Cuvee is sold in the resorts. We all enjoy it.

If you aren't purchasing at Disney, I would look for a bottle of Dragonstone. It's a reisling and sweet but still nicely balanced imo. Very enjoyable and reasonably priced :D

Melanie, do you want something sweet so that you can share it? I may have misunderstood as everyone else is reading it that way.

They are sold everywhere. Most deluxe resort shops carry them and there are shops in the parks that do too.

Disney Florist usually has a basket that includes them.

Yes, definitely something sweet.

The etched glasses are at World of Disney and the Disney florist offers them in their baskets.

Forget about my suggestion then as it is not sweet like the others.

Have fun!

Love this, but BCV23 is right, I wouldn't call it very sweet, maybe a medium dry. It's just nice as it's a special Disney vintage. It got some very good reviews in the Washington Post recently.

I'm not very up with wine names, but Italian Sparkling wine's are usually on the sweet side. Also the German white wines seem to be pretty sweet also, not sure if there is a sparkling one. You could ask at the pavillions for some help.

I agree that Banfi Rosa Regale is the best sweet sparkling wine. It's a pretty red color, too! Not cloyingly sweet, but a very good sparkling wine. If you're wanting a dinner wine that's a little sweet (not dry and all), go for a Rriesling, or a Gewürztraminer. Both are slightly sweet, and are easily drinkable with dinner. The sparkling wine is best with dessert. Or, you could surprise him with both!! The Rosa Regale retails for around $17-20 here, and a good Riesling/Gewurtz can be had for less than $15-20. Good luck! Enjoy your wine. :goodvibes

Go to the Germany pavillion and sample a couple Reislings... Spatlese and Auslese will be the sweetest....
there is also Late Harvet Reisling and Icewine, which is a really sweet dessert wine, but it's very expensive and it typically comes in a half bottle.

Banfi Rosa Regale is a wonderful choice - very light and while sweet, it's not overpoweringly so. The color is also very nice!

If you can find it on property an Italian Moscato is also a light, sweet sparkling white wine.

Ice wine is toooooooo sweet as far as I'm concerned, but to each his own. Have a great trip! :goodvibes

so Rosa Regale can be found in all package stores? I may need to get a bottle before Nov!

Here in St. Louis I've found Rosa Regale in local wine shops as well as at stores like World Market. We usually pay about $20 per bottle at World Market.

Moet and Chandon do a wonderful champagne...called Nectar.

Sweeter than any we have tried...totally wonderful.

Another vote for Rosa here! My Dh and I love it. We drink a bottle every other weekend almost. We plan on buying some before we go to WDW. We usually buy it from Worldmarket for $20
